Lawn mower blades won't engage? Quick fix.

You cutting the grass and your blades stop spinning.... You kill the lawn mower get off, look underneath and your belt is intact. Got slack in the handle to engage the blades? Here is a quick and simple fix with a household item most men have laying around. If you're a man and you don't have one of these, well then..... go get your wife to look in the back of her truck and have her fix your lawnmower. While she is doing that get your ass in the kitchen and fix dinner.....pansy.

You’re a genius! A rubber trash can lid would work great as a cover over the blades. Plastic weld it on.

Not sure I understand the logic in riding it before putting the cover back. It was pointless. Common sense is to not take pointless risks. Accidents are unexpected, generally they can't be predicted.

I will have to check the pulleys on that piece of crap that I have sitting outside my backdoor. When I put the lever down now it doesn't feel the same. I don't feel that bit of resistance that I use to feel. I checked all of the belts and they feel good and tight though a little worn. It started OK after I put a charger on it because the battery was a bit low.

I tied a knot in the strap, used the spring that was originally hooked to the pulley. Just threaded that knot round and round the spring there until it was hung up in it good

Hmmmm.....well. I l ow that lever has a steel braided cable attached to it, on the end of that cable is a stout spring, and that spring hooks to the tension pulley. Possibly maybe a shorter belt on the mower deck? May need to just get down there and observe it in action while somebody else pushes the lever for you slowly see if you can find out why it's so tight.

No no what am I thinking....longer belt. Maybe just take that one off, auto parts store sells all kinds of belts by length. Could try 1 an inch longer.
