Please note: the up and down movement of the arm is not part of the scapula retraction,.. have a nice day and stay healthy!

I find these animations incredibly useful for improving my strength training. Being able to visulise what muscles are working and how while at the gym, has increased my abilities dramatically. Thank you.

I’m very happy to hear this. Thank you so much for taking the time and commenting. Maybe you should also check out my shoulder girl series because it will teach you even a little bit more about the muscles that you are training in the gym but anyway have a good one.alex

In a rowing movement, does the lat continue to be active at the extreme end of the range of motion, when the upper arm goes back beyond parallel with the body? The animation doesn't show that part of the ROM. EDIT: Ah, never mind, I saw it in Part 5: Retroversion! Thanks!

How does the latissimus dorsi do the scapula retraction?

the transverse fibers attach to the scapula, so those fibers help to realize the retraction,..
