Why not investigate at 1 complaint if the complaint is concerning taking money but not doing any work? Sucks for good contractors. Most need a down payment to cover cost of materials and wages. Because too many home owners refuse to pay for finished work. Sure the contractor can put a lien on the property. But that doesn't help pay the cost of materials and wages that they have to pay out of their own pockets.

2017 i needed my shower wall retiled and one guy said he do it for 300.00 then it went up to 1,500.00 and need half of up front
