Geniuses like Larry David, have a unique ability to voice the thoughts and reactions that everyone has to everyday mundane situations, and react in a way that everyone can connect with. To be able to write a whole episode in the waiting area of a chinese restaurant and make it one funniest shows ever made is such brilliant observation. @@_yak It was only disappointing to people who don't appreciate the good writing that made Seinfeld iconic. It stayed true to the story and characters and imo perfectly combined that with the dumb societal and critical expectation of what sitcom finale should be, this big gimmicky spectacle. Charlie Rose has a knack of connecting with his interview subjects in an authentic way. He assumes depths of character so always is confident to dig deep. He is also a man of few cliches and retreading already covered grounds. His vision is expansive, good humoured and empathetic and this usually results in the interview subject being interested in him enough to answer his questions at Rose's desired level of enquiry. He is IMO far and away the most interesting interviewer to ever appear on US television. Who wouldn't enjoy answering such interesting and penetrating questions.

Pure natural comedian... just so effortlessly funny 😁
Even though I found him rather out of his element doing stand up given the pressures on that genre, he is definitely on top of the profession later, especially doing the Curb episodes. He is everyman dealing with everyman situations and reacting in kind, or rather the way we would all like to react the way he does.
What a great journalist, questions and answers,...what happened to our world, no more conversations, just show.
Charlie Rose's fall from grace left such a hole in the PBS late night; he had such a wonderful variety of interesting people every night.
So in 1998, Larry David was still sane as we can see in this interview.

Interesting that he said he was “excited” to write the last episode, when he later said he didn’t get excited about anything. His mom used to say, “Larry, you never get excited. Why aren’t you excited?”
What's the new show about? Larry's answer from another universe: It's a show about me. Entirely by me, about me, starring me. And if you have enjoyed some me during this interview, you'll enjoy this show.
The Seinfeld finale was Bad Larry. He reverted to the grape movie.
