All of the past famous travelers like Ibne Batuta, and Hiuen Tsang wrote about the abundance of Tiger in this region than any other part of India. Before conquering India, the British made their base in the Western and southern parts of India. The largest recorded specimens come from the Siberian population, but on average Bengals are now heavier. Probably because they are much more abundant and poaching and hunting pressure is much lower. In india, there was a tiger named Wagdoh. Wagdoh was the Crowned king of Todoba forest reserve. He was the largest tiger in the asia weighing over 300kgs. His territory was about 150sq. kms. He mated with many females nd gave birth to around 20 cubs. But his beloved tigress was Madhuri. Madhuri lost her territory to another female nd left Wagdoh's territory forever. At the eame time there was another tiger named Bajrang who had entered Wagdoh's territory. Wagdoh was madly in love with Madhuri so he left his territory in search of Madhuri. He was only defeated by one tiger named Khali as Wagdoh was pretty old nd weak at that time. After the defeat, khali took Wagdoh's beloved Girlfriend Madhuri nd had kids with her. Wagdoh eventually died in 2022. What happened to his territory? Well it was taken by the upcoming king of todoba, Bajrang. Bajrang was not as big as Wagdoh but was still huge and powerful. He successfully defended his territory and defeated many tigers. He had more than 30 kids nd was nd ruled for years after wagdoh left. Later on, he faced the son of matkasur(another male tiger in todoba), i.e. Chota Matka. At that time, Bajrang was pretty old as well. He was defeated by chota Matka nd died in November 2023 due to extensive bleeding and wounds caused during the fight with Chota Matka. Now Bajrang's territory is divided amoung 6 male tigers. After Wagdoh, bajrang expanded hir territory even more nd made it the largest territory of a single male tiger in India. Why are these indian tigers so powerful that people name them nd extensively track their each nd every step? It's just cze indian govt is taking measures to protect these tigers. Many of you don't know but there was a male tiger who raised 2 of his tiger cubs alone after their mother's death. It's only happened twive in the recorded history. One of the cub eventually died from the electric fencing but the other one is still slive. Her father has left her now cze she's an adult female now. All these things are so interesting. Indochinese and Bengal tigers can also be found in Myanmar. There used to be a large tiger population in British colonial era but the population reduced to almost extinction due to poaching and black market in many areas of the country.
Just one rectification. There are only two tiger subspecies. Their different native populations across geographical locations does not automatically designate them as subspecies
The largest tiger without any doubt is the Amur tiger. Several times I personally observed him in the wild nature of Primorsky Krai. The weight of an adult animal reaches more than 300 kilograms, the body length is two meters without a tail and the tail is about one meter long. An animal of this size easily carries an adult cow several kilometers away from its hunting ground. If you are really interested in this, you can read the book "Half a Century of Tiger Hunting" by Yuri Yankovsky. That's how it is, dear friends! With love from Russia!!!

Not all bengal tigers are big. Tigers in sunderban are one of the smallest. They are called swamp tigers by some. However they are also the most aggressive to humans. Some say the salty water in sunderban makes them this aggressive.

The prey of Bengal tiger is much larger and diverse than Siberian tiger prey . Bengal tiger prey wild buffalo , Indian bison , blue bull , sambhar , barasiga ,chital deer, wild boar, young elephant and various types of dears and antelope and thay also some time attack on crocodile, young rhinos and cattles . thay compete with sloth bear, Himalayas black bears, Indian wild dogs, Indian wolf, Indian leopard, stripe hyena, crocodiles. According to my opinion in wild Bengal or Indian tiger are bigger and strong. And their hunting skill is also superior than Siberian tiger.

One of the reason there are so few tigers is nobody would be ok with the amount of people tigers eat when they are wide ranging. 375,000 people since 1800 is probably a way under represented number on Wikipedia
Gratifying to know that India's Tiger population which at one time was expected to go extinct has now increased to close to 4K tigers thanks to the tireless conservation efforts of the Indian 🇮🇳 Government. Let's hope that the Cheetah reintroduction programme launched by PM MODIJI on his Birthday on 17th September 2022 achieves the same level of success. Hope the Indian Government will continue to revive its extinct and or reducing number of wildlife that Bharat 🇮🇳 once had. Oh my goodness, he is just incredibly beautiful 🐯🐅🐯🐾🐾
Thankfully the populations are growing again, but one major difficulty doesn't even have to do with human encroachment. It's the sheer size of territory a tiger demands. They are solo animals, not social like lions, and roam enormous territories. Many young male tigers and tiger cubs are killed by other dominant males. When tiger cubs are rescued from a dangerous situation and ultimately released as adults into the wild, or an injured tiger is rehabilitated to a point where it's safe to go back to the wild, it's challenging to find an area that doesn't cross over with another tiger and create critical conflict. Some are even being moved to sanctuaries in South Africa where there are protected preserves. (SIDE NOTE: It turns out tigers do very well hunting African game, but they can't fully be released into the wild there. Even though a single tiger will overpower a single lion with absolute ease, a pride of lions, or a coalition of males is another story and would threaten a lone male tiger, or a female tiger's cubs.)
