Large Coyote Shows Teeth To Warn Koji To Stay Back

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

In this video my neighbours dog Koji and a large coyote were staring each other down. The two kept their distance and the coyote repeatedly let Koji know not to approach by showing his teeth. The coyote went on is way down the road while Koji sniffed the coyotes scent on the grass. Video by Bruce Causier / Urban Wildlife Guy.

I'm glad it was a couple of neighbor guys and a grown dog that encountered this coyote and not some three or four year old toddler playing out in their yard.

Could that be one of those Wolf/Coyote hybrids? That guy is big.

If you look at that 'coyote' both his muzzle and build in general are pretty heavy. Granted he is 'puffed up' to look bigger than he is, I'm guessing 60ish lbs which is freakin huge for a coyote. That muzzle especially has me thinking it's a coydog. The seeming lack of fear of humans backs that up as well.

That's a HUGE "Coywolf" hybrid! Looks more like a wolf than a coyote! But I'm certain that the Akita could've taken it on. An American Akita would, for sure!

That coyote is huge! Down south (where I live in the Florida panhandle) we also have lots of coyotes, but they are a lot smaller.

I live in Los Angeles and saw one just nonchalant walking around near the 99 cent store mid-day. Crazy. They were here first. Your dog is beautiful. Stay safe!

Coywolf? They do seem bigger lately. They used to be just tiny little skinny things. Theyn do look taller and beefier... but seeing one out in the city midday made a huge impression. Studio City. Crossing the big intersection. Not a care in the world!

Probably a Coywolf , I’ve never seen a Coyote with legs that thick or girth like that. There a lot of Coyotes in my area eating up the plethora of rabbits here, they usually very lanky, some may have longer legs like this one but not this thicker bone structure

Good boy Koji, for just sitting and watching. I recently came across the story of that dog, I think Casper, that protected his herd of sheep against 11 Coyotes and killing a couple of them. The wounds on that dog, oh my!

Had one about that size, maybe a little bigger approach my Cane Corso while we were walking at night and it tried to assert its dominance. 30 seconds later it limped away on 3 legs.

I live in Canada, in one of the middle Provinces, and within the last 8 days, in the same residential area, a 4 yr old boy and an 8 year old were attacked by a Coyote. Both had injuries, but were not killed. I hope they shoot that Coyote, as he will try again for another young kid. I grew up here all my life, and have never seen a Coyote til 4 months ago, and I saw 2 Coyotes just standing outside by the golf course. I was in my car, and they just looked at me slowly drive by. I doubt they would attack an adult, but I have a heavy metal bar up my sleeve, if I go for a late night walk of jog, just in case some thug pulls a knife on me, or maybe even a Coyote attacks me, but so far I've not at all been approached by one. They sure are getting braver coming into the City now, and their a big danger to small kids.

Because you can't easily shoot a firearm in the suburbs. Too many things to hit. It's really tricky. You could maybe hit it with a .22 air rifle, but even that has a lot of risk to other houses and neighbors.

Coyote's that wander into human settlements need to be killed. They are dangerous predators and denying that is going to lead to some unfortunate deaths.

You would be surprised at how much a coyote can take and still get away. I have seen them run off after catching some .223 lead. I seriously doubt that is a pure bred coyote either.
