A day of what I expected to be isolated showers with sporadic lightning turned out to be much more than that...
A small thunderstorm developed a few miles to my SE in the late afternoon. It introduced itself with a powerful 128kA positive CG, which I missed but manage to capture the thunder at the start of the video. Outflow from this storm, combined with a storm near Northampton, caused a convergence zone to develop running from NW Bedford to Wellingborough. This fueled an active and very slow-moving thunderstorm to develop to my west and almost 'stall' as it was dumping heavy rain into western areas of Bedfordshire. Most lightning I caught in this video was intracloud apart from the end - it produced quite a few CGs before the storm's demise.
