Lang Lang wowed tourists in the ‘City of Love’ on Valentine’s Day 2019 as he gave a unique album launch concert in Paris on a boat cruising along the Seine, performing pieces from his new album, Piano Book, such as the French classic ‘Clair de lune’ by Claude Debussy.
With ‘Piano Book’, Lang Lang goes back to his first love - to the pieces that made him want to become a musician in the first place. “I dedicate this album to my wonderful piano students and all my friends around the world who love the piano as much as I do.” Rediscovering the most popular and accessible pieces written for learners and lovers of the piano, this album is a journey of inspiration, of discovery, fantasy and learning. ‘Piano Book’ gathers together many of the miniatures that generations of amateur pianists have grown up with. Lang Lang holds them in the highest regard, believing them to be classics in their own right. He wants to encourage piano students across the world to fully appreciate them.
Enjoy the video of this famous poetic piece along the landmarks of Paris by night.

usually people hate on lang lang for how fast he plays, now he plays this slow and everyone loses their mind.

This is easily the best interpretation of this piece I’ve ever heard. You can’t just play what’s written, you have to make the piano sing.

It’s perfect. He plays it slow but not lazily, instead brightly, clear and colourfully. The melody changes are very smooth as well. I hope he starts playing chopin’s nocturnes.

Love how it was filmed in Paris, it gives the piece a nostalgic feeling and the way it blends with Lang Lang’s interpretation, it was very nice and delicate..

This is the most smooth interpretation I have ever listened to, its like a steady stream flow of water, it even seems like you don't know whats coming next after each note, eventhough you have heard it hundreds of times, some people play it section for section and you can clearly distinguish the transitions, which makes it not so smooth to listen to and just feels like text book playing, but Lang Langs takes it to a whole different level.

I was listening to this on a rainy, my house was completely dark, no lights at all, all windows open, and for some reason the mix of sounds between this masterpiece and the rain, just made it perfecto, to the point that I actually had tears running down my face. I wished I could've listen to my grandfather, when he was trying to teach me the piano.

This moves me to tears. My partner of 23 years passed away two weeks ago and it was one of his favorites also. Best interpretation ever heard. Lang Lang is truly a gifted artist!

My dad passed away on April 10th. One of my best memories with him was he and I FINALLY going to see Victor Borge in concert. I will never hear Clair De Lune without thinking of my Dad..........rest his wonderful soul.

Moved me to tears. I was walking into the room to wake my teenage daughter up when I heard this rendition. I felt like this composition and Lang Lang’s superb interpretation together best represents the depth of inexpressible love I have for her.

This is the best performance of Clair de lune I have ever heard in my life so far. I lost my mind and my soul went straight in to meditation listening to it, dreaming though wide awake.

My Dad used to play this a lot, so I can’t help but think of him whenever I hear it. I’m pretty sure he would’ve loved this stunning interpretation. Thank you, sir.

I don't think that there are many classical piano pieces like this one which transport me 100% of the time to an entirely different world upon listening to it.
