A selfish society yet these same narcissists will jump on the “lets save the planet” bandwagon for self promotion when it suits them. Hypocrites.

@Railfan Nick Ehh I think it’s Embraer, 73’s have the master caut and fire warn in front of pilots, the Embraer has more squared-off windows, the 73’s are a little more narrow. See how the main panel kinda tapers-off diagonally at each side just below the windshield? That’s particular to Embraer I believe. Also the Embraer yoke’s are different.

This is an interesting illustration of something we all know - When visibility is on the low side at night, the PAPI lights are often the first thing you will see - miles out - indicating the runway environment, especially with only an MALSR approach lighting system like this one. The PAPI lights DO qualify legally as an aspect of the runway environment allowing you to break minimums, but if you're at 200ft on an ILS and all you see is a fuzzy red glow sometimes legal is not necessarily safe. Obviously that's far from the case here, where visibility is really quite good, but they were still the first thing we could acquire visually.

@xmax737 that’s actually not true. I wanna become a pilot myself and they just needa type in the route and their approach in the FMC for an ILS approach. And the right frequency but that’s kinda it. The plane still does much by itself. It’s not like you have to get the heading correct or something like that. Especially in bigger airliners.

This was an E175, which does not have autoland, and it has to be hand flown. They disconnected well before they reached minimums. The "preference" comes on when to disconnect, and how much to hand fly, but every landing in this plane is hand flown.
