It's like a parent giving their child a coloring book; Audi essentially made the whole car and let Lamborghini just do the styling.

well what do you think the Gallardo was? The Gallardo only existed so Audi could build it's R8. As to your overall comment - unless you forget - Lambo was dying... and Audi saved it.

This thing looks so modern and stunning that it's almost unbelievable. I don't know if I'd take it over a 458 Italia but I wouldn't mind having one. Usually I wouldn't even care to own a Lamborghini.

Laughed when he tactfully said that the Chinese are shitty drivers. To everyone saying that this is a boring looking car... keep in mind the 10000 variants and special editions that are going to come along during the next 10+ years it's going to be around.

andrefrbk If you follow GTspirit.com or GTboard.com on Facebook, they're always posting pictures of the Chinese trashing exotic cars. That's what happens when you have a country just 15 years ago barely had any cars, now all of a sudden they have tons of traffic and 600+ hp supercars roaming the streets. Recipe for disaster. God only knows how poor their drivers ed is over there.

No Name The way I see it with the Aventador and now the Huracan is that Lamborghini is intentionally holding back so they can leave room for improvements in the updated models. The Aventador for example doesn't have direct injection or a dual clutch, which is what they'll probably add in an Superveloche model. The Huracan looks boring, but then they can make some wild variant of it down the line with updated body work (Superleggera). Seems like they're holding back on purpose so they don't have to work too hard to improve the cars down the line.

I think the thing Lamborghini was thinking is that in the real world you have a lot of young and rich Chinese that buy these kind of cars, and yes, sometimes just lose it and crash them.

I think it looks great. Manages to carry the new Lamborghini DNA from the Aventador while looking elegant and not as show offy. Also to all the keyboard drivers going on about how the McLaren or the Ferrari is faster and so on. If you put 20 drivers into a Ferrari 458 and tell them to keep up with the Huracan, maybe 1 will keep up? And that guy would have to be a bloody good driver. Also not alot of supercar owners take there supercars on track days. It's why if actually went to a track day you will see a load of Porsche GT3 RS's, some Caterhams, Some M3's/M5's, Maybe a hot hatch (Normally it's a Renault RS), maybe 1 or 2 supercars (The only supercars I ever saw were Gallardo's and 1 F430) and a few special cars (Maybe someone brought a Radical or a Peugeot 205 T16). So not only does the Huracan look amazing but also the performance is way more accessible to the majority of the buyers compared to the McLaren or the Ferrari. Plus it's safer then both of those cars which unfortunately for all those keyboard drivers makes it a worse car (?).

You are glorifying the AWD way too much. Just because the 458 and 12c are RWD doesn't mean they are impossible to drive fast for a "lesser" driver. Yes the AWD will help but the traction control systems today are SO good that the differences aren't that big. If you're in the middle of a corner in a 458 and put your foot down the car won't give you full throttle until you've straightened up the wheel, for example. What you wrote was true 15 years ago. Today, not so much.

Speednote10 I don't think I'm glorifying the 4WD too much. That's what I mean with the 4WD, "If you're in the middle of a corner in a 458 and put your foot down the car won't give you full throttle until you've straightened up the wheel, for example." - In the Huracan it will let you use all the power hence why it will be faster for way more people. I'm not saying the 458 and the 650S are impossible to drive fast without being a racing driver, I'm saying it's very hard for a normal supercar buyer to be as fast as the Huracan while driving the 458 (He can probably keep up/beat the Huracan as it's just so fast).

Are you really comparing this brand new Huracan to a 5 years old Ferrari 458? So even yourself can understand then how amazingly good a 458 is still today, especially when the Speciale version is a whole second quicker on the 0-124 mph, i love Lamborghini's the Aventador is definetely in my top 5 cars but this should have been much faster and exciting than it is now, and Ferrari should reveal a 458 successor in less than a year and a half btw..

It doesn't compare to a Speciale Steve but it does compare to a standard 458 and judging from the review, it loses that comparison. And the 458 is a 5 year-old car. All this make me feel disappointed with Lamborghini. Especially since the Aventador is fantastic!

Yeah not only does it look boring, but in my opinion also, bad... If they painted the coloured bit under tail lights black and made the whole rear blend, it would look nicer and more aggressive. However the rest of the car, I think, looks brilliant!! I love how 'pointy' the front is, how it's looking down on you despite being so low.

Funny how Lamborghini almost always name it's cars after Spanish words despite being an Italian-German company and even funnier how we Britons go in millions to Spain every year yet most of us still don't speak a s*** of Spanish, being the world's second most important language. The name of the car, Huracán, is pronounced Uh-rah-kahn, the H at the beginning of words is mute in Spanish. Love those Malaga roads. Cheers.

PS91195 Wrong, in short, Ferruccio Lamborghini was in love with Spain and later with bullfights, so he mixed his astrological sign, Taurus, with thigns related to 'Tauromaquia', starting with the name of the bulls breed of his close friend Eduardo Miura of Seville, Spain, gving name to the glorious Lamborghini Miura after a not so relevant 350GT ... and there you have it. Cheers.

Definately the classiest Lamborghini yet. The design of the front end oozes charisma. If this is what the new Huracan looks like, then I cant wait to see what the Aventador replacement will look like, since no doubt it will take its looks from the Huracan. But for now I would actually still choose an Aventador over the Huracan, since you cant beat the sense of theater of the Aventador. This color looks great on the car. Lamborghinis look the best in outragious colors since Lamborghinis themselves look outragious. And just like with the Ferrari 458, they have finally nailed the design of the headlamps. This is so important, since the headlamps of a car give the car its character. Very refined exhaust note. Not as good as a Ferrari signature exhaust note but better sounding than a McLaren P1. If Steve says that the car does not allow you total freedom and the electronics are always helping you out behind the scenes, then that is a sign of the German engineering influence at Lamborghini, since it seems that German engineering tends to take away a bit of the passion of driving and substitute it for precision electronically aided handling. It seems that the priority in German supercar engineering is always precision handling over everything else. This seems to be the case with the Porsche 918 too.

And if you change the headlights then the front view is basically a SV Murcielago with body colored splitters... MY taste says that it's way too smooth and it lacks places for eyes to stop and take in the shape.

I know Lamborginis use parts from their corporate cousins but a GTI pedal setup is beyond cheap. That being said, I have always liked pedal setup and thought it belonged in a more expensive car, and here it is.

Sounds a bit like the SRT Viper '13, but a bit more refined and not muffled. He's right, sounds Audi 'ish (not a bad thing). It has a deeper engine rev sound than the Gallardo did.

Yeah, you can see so clearly they are owned by VW! Think about the last car they designed themselves, the Diablo, the main thing about the first Diablos were they were MAD, properly! I think something about 500 HP no ABS no ESP no Electronical BS! That is what Lambo was about MADNESS, where the Ferrari was fast and gorgeous to look at mostly quite sophisticated too, Lamborghinis were about heart and soul character and stuff ;-) For me it seems like many modern cars lost this "character" unfortunately!

  • @12389h

    @12389h

unfound23 You've been watching too many reviews and listening to journalists. Lamborghinis sure were mad, but don't think Ferraris in those days were easy to drive either. The F40 had turbo lag and when boost came on, people crashed. The F50 was just a detuned F1 engine and no easier to drive than the F40, probably harder. You're right about one thing though, cars have lost soul and character. I don't really see massive appeal with modern day supercars, it could be just I'm old fashioned or it could be that most have that mass-produced feeling to them.

I remember the original Gallardo looking a bit dull and being disappointed by it. The LP540 and LP560 added nice, subtle, Reventon influenced, changes, that gave the car a much more sleek finish. Here is hoping that this car gets the same treatment.

Anybody old enough can remember the Euro cliche's. "American cars are great in a straight line", but you have to be fast on the track. Or obstacle course. Or braking was a big thing in the 90's when I lived over there. Now the Z07 is about to take the record back at Nurimburg. A production car, that you see everyday.

it's like all these reviewers have been told by lamborghini or someone not to directly compare this car with the regular 458, that's why they're all talking about the 650s and the speciale which are clearly better cars.

They probably keep comparing it to the 650S and 458 Speciale rather than the 458 Italia and MP4-12C because they all came out close to each other.

Will you people stop complaining about Lambo's Audi influence...Like Jethro Bovingdon said,we've had many Superleggera's,Performante and SV''s since Audi bought Lambo, so stop saying it kinda ruined Audi,it just gaved it a german practicality and reliability...Yes,it cannot compare to the 650s and Speciale, but remember this is an entry level,in the next 2 years we will se a superleggera, and that will have all the special 'feelings'..Evereybody should thank Lambo for that GLORIOUS V10,which sounds better than any 650S,458 S V8...This is Faster than its main Rival, the standard 458.My only problem with this car,is the fact that it doenst have a Manual, because only 2% of Lambo owners bought a manual, and thats sad, manual gearboxe's are truly dying...
