Lama Christie McNally at the Wanderlust Festival Speakeasy 2010

Ойын-сауық

"Om Prem! How True Love Can Save The World"
Lama Christie McNally discusses how True Love can change the world at the Wanderlust Festival's SPEAKEASY Lecture Series in Lake Tahoe, CA, in July of 2010.
Lama Christie McNally trained in Tibetan monasteries in India and Nepal, and received extensive instruction in all the texts required for a Geshe degree, which is traditionally a 20-year course of study. From there, she immersed herself in the secret teachings of Buddhism. She is one of the first Western women to be recognized as a Lama. Through her efforts, she has begun to change the face of Buddhism that has historically been predominantly male. She is a translator of ancient Tibetan and Sanskrit, and a professor of religious studies. She has also co-authored The Essential Yoga Sutra, How Yoga Works, and The Eastern Path to Heaven. Lama Christie is the co-founder of Diamond Mountain University, a revolutionary effort to provide without charge a classical monastic education to westerners of all walks of life, to be used within the modern world.
From 2000 to 2003, Lama Christie completed a traditional Great Retreat of 3 years, 3 months, and 3 days of silence and meditation, in the wilderness of the southern Arizona desert. Since completing her great retreat, Lama Christie has divided her time following the example of the first Panchen Lama, Lobsang Chukyi Gyeltsen, who was a known as a great peacemaker. She spends 4 months of the year at Diamond Mountain University training advanced students who will become teachers; 4 months of year in silent meditation retreat; and 4 months of the year traveling the world making the teachings accessible to public audiences. She continues the lineage of her Lamas, always teaching Buddhism for free wherever she is in the world.
Stay tuned for more speakers in this series, including Shiva Rea, Adrien Grenier & Peter Glatzer, Chris Sharma, Schuyler Grant, Mariel Hemingway, and many more....

Get an authentic Buddhist teacher, not a delusional self focused person who doesn't acknowledge the harm she does to others.See the news of her husband's death--so sad. He followed her until stabbed and died in the desert. Who hires her to speak to people?????

Sadly, what i get when i see her, aside for a really lovely smile, is something rather unstable. Notice the way she don't look much at the audience but rather stare upwards, as if she's looking to "connect" to something "high" in order to escape the here and now. This is not the dharma i was taught. Something is wrong there, tmho.

Here because of Stephanie Soo’s video. This is scary because what She’s saying (I’m only like 6mins in) makes a lot of sense and it relatable and sounds good. But I truly believe she was groomed and brainwashed by Michael. Disgusting that he’s still public speaking. As much as I put some blame on her for Ian’s death, I also believe she is a victim of grooming, just as he was. They were literally brainwashed for years

Now you know why I never join ANY religion, spiritual or not. Even the typical traditional " high" ones sit on " high platforms" wearing expensive brocaded robes and jeweled things around them. They rarely lived within a community working together( Jimmy Carter for example helped build homes for a different example), but soon as the higher monks reach their status they forget the common people- except for lecturing.

She’s absolutely in total bliss about murdering Ian Thorson...it’s just so beautiful for you, and I feel so much love that you’re enjoying her sociopathic bliss.. I also feel nothing but compassion for everyone else who more sovereignly will never be happy that she’s such a blissfully smiling deceitful deluded murderess... There’s just something about her smiling murderous face that’s so dauntingly blissfully-unaware of unconscionably harming others; so peaceful and compelling... It just makes all of her duped followers want to stumble over each other to fawn all over her, doesn’t it? I know that you can’t help but want the rest of us to hop on board and prostrate to her highly-addictive Manson deranged face of psychotic bliss; her universal deranged love that she so readily wants to share with the world... It’s just so beautiful, isn’t it? Her deluded mind that has completely bypassed all sense of morality and need or use for even a conscience... it’s so convenient... Even still, those of us who have transcended her level cannot help but point out how much she’s still ever so ready to puff herself up upon pillowed impediments like how blissful murder is and how she so easily dismisses and erases it from her mind... It’s just so illusory, isn’t it... her murdering Ian... Her blissful face erases all cognizance of her evil... What matters the most to her is opening her chakras and untying knots while Ian is dying in the midst of her utterly blissful face that would never think of even helping him... and she so wants to spread this similar love she rendered to Ian to all of you...and to the world.. doesn’t she? It’s so beautiful for you, isn’t it? It’s so beautiful for Ian’s mother too and his family... that you all gather together utterly treating them so lovingly and conveniently and disregardingly... the love is just too much for me to even fathom that she wants to share... What she gave to Ian and his family... and all of you too... how that feels for them for none of you to have a conscience either...

This woman does not teach people. She talks a load of pretty words. How can you help people with Buddhism when you simply talk about some supposed "high" level achievements the whole time? People need to learn how to deal with their daily lives and selves before talking about concepts like emptiness. It's arrogant and irresponsible. Buddhism is not taught like this by great Dharma Masters. No lay person should use lofty concepts from Buddhism to make themselves important and famous

It is so boring what she is saying and she says it as if it was great wisdom. Is that all you get from years of retreat? It is not worth it then. What a waste. You are better off just reading a lot of non fiction books and learn.

Not a Lama. Her "guru" was a fraudster and cult leader, who was technically ordained but acted unlike a bhikku, violating several of even the old precepts (not to mention the expanded Mahayana precepts or the vows of a Gelugpa initiate). She doesn't need a platform, she needs help.

Not that you should be teaching completion stage practices on YT anyways- but Kundalini energy in the spine is by no means the winds in the central channel and such a teaching is simply the result of a hippfied soup of spiritual teachings that come from arrogant and disrespectful people.

Her entire persona is a clone of Geshe Michael. All facial expressions, eye movements, she pauses her speech just where he would do so, hand gestures, figures of speech exactly the same as his. Same laughter at the intervals he would do so. It's as though I'm looking at him in female form. They taught me more wisdom than any other lama-guru-teacher. They were my first Buddhist teachers and for that, I'll be forever grateful.
