Great video guys ! I use to fish there all the time when I was young ! But watch that stringer !! Some very large snapping turtles in that lake when the water warms…..
FREAKIN RIGHTS FELLAS! I love the canoe action, if it floats, fish it!
Your passion for fishing is contagious, and it shines through in every video!
Solid Video Fellas!!!! Those were the Perfect Eaters you were keeping!
Always look forward to the next Sobi video! Speaking of which, I absolutely love rigging videos, as I’m still learning how to fish for species other than bass perch and giant northerns. Set up a camera at home and show us how to rig these different rigs!

How often you fish tonka? Lets get out for some muskies this summer or fall @sobifishing
I haven't ate crappie since I was a kid and caught them all day. Great eating!
Man was there last week and we killed it. 12 to 14s where biting most of the day. Using Billy Rub ball shad with emerald shiner.
highlight of my day, as i’m getting home and setting up on the couch to eat my Bruegger’s Bagels, i click on a new Sobi video and almost immediately cinematic brueggers bagels on video as im taking my first bite 😂😂😂

@@sobifishingi’m basic, but with flare. Bacon Egg and Cheese, Rosemary & Olive Oil Bagel, chipotle mayo added AFTER the toast. this is key that it goes on after otherwise the sauce gets cooked into the bagel and loses its saucy goodness. give it a shot! works great on an everything too
Props to boys was a cold one
Awesome video Sobi!
I live for Sobi and Hays videos
Makes me miss canoeing with my late little brother!! Thanks for sharing the memories Sam!!

That’s livin’ right there!
Cubby Mini-Mite pink with white grub is a panfish crusher! I use it year round and could possibly be the most versatile jig and plastic around. I’ve caught Bass, Northern, Walleye on it too.

@@sobifishing I'm in the UK In a town called Devizes. I was visiting family in Minnesota in 2013 and had the opportunity to do some fishing at lake Itasca and some river fishing over the period I was over there. What struck me the most was how geared up everywhere was for fishing, I mean getting your bait and licence at a gas station. Brilliant! Love the channel by the way.
Turn the paddles around! You were using em backwards. 😂
awesome super early pies!
Great video. Crazy we have open water in March. Go to the boundary water canoe area sometime. Beautiful lakes and country with great fishing.
Nice !
Great vid. Love the canoe and crappie

I'm ready for some shallow crappies, just waiting on the MN weather to cooperate!
Good banter boys. Good fucking banter.
Me and the home were in that very spot a couple weeks ago.
I’m pretty sure if it the right spot the bridge spot behinde y’all it’s a good spot for night fishing 😊

Hopefully verrrrry soon! And who says it’s a bass boat and not a Pontoon;)
WOW!! slabs! I dont fish tonka but always hear that people get slabs from tonka. its across town for me and too many bays for my small kayak
That's a pretty far spot for Canoeing in. We was slaying them further in on that tuesday.
Brueggers Bagels best around!!
Not sure that the visit to Bruegger’s Bagels was worth including.
You boys are using the bent shaft paddles bass ackwards. They are designed to give more forward reach so the bend faces forward. Less scooping and downward force at the end of the stroke with them too compared t straight shaft paddle.
I usually wait until early April but looks like with ice out early this year, gonna have to break out the boat.
❤️🎣
Guess I'll have to uncover the ranger. I have a canoe but it sucks by myself.
Sobi, what was the water temp? Ready to bust my boat out. About 2.5 hrs north of ya. Nice vid brotha
Seems like they’re a little deeper & cold & slow still. Hoping next weekend will make things a bit better on the bite side.
Where’s that hat from?
Hay I saw you at the fishing fest and I had a good time and if you can get back to me if you can
Where’d you learn to paddle?😂
When i find megaschools, i just tie 2 jigs and work through the school
Put the big ones back fellas
Third good job boys
👍💪💪💪
Are you on Minnetonka?
Sad but true. You will do it again.
Tip. Marabou jig will out fish any other crappie jig. Bar none. Something to due with the movement of the hair jig. Red & white. The color. Add a crappie nibble for scent. Bass pro& Cabela's sells them. No bobber. Cast and retrieve. Works best. Good luck.
Second
budget cuts? LOL No sexy vexy this year?
Had a canoe just like that until someone ripped it off back in the 70's. Used to run it all over with a five horse on the transom. Built like a tank.
Wayzata bait and tackle closed down
2015 registration?
Are you self employed Sobi? The reason I ask is because you get some primo time to fish!
Your bite indication is going to suck with a sinker above the jig. You were probably getting bit, but then rejected quickly with plastic. Why not just run the jig and bobber? So awesome that you're doing fishing adventures in a canoe.
@YourMomsPlaceLastNight
Ай бұрын
That makes absolutely no sense......when using small crappie jigs and you want them to get down 10ft......that small jig would take a very long time to float down.....and if you do not have enough weight underneath your bobber it won't sit straight up and down.......nor will your bobber be nearly as sensitive to bites.....a bite indication is your bobber going underwater lol.....and having a small sinker above your jig doesn't make it not go under water......
@aaronalto3034
Ай бұрын
@@YourMomsPlaceLastNight That's how I do it, no sinker, and heavier tungsten. I wouldn't fish with a sinker above my jig in winter for same reasons of sloppier bite indications. That said, a buddy does, and he still does some catching. Tight lines.
@YourMomsPlaceLastNight
Ай бұрын
@aaronalto3034 it's no different than having a sinker above a bare hook......and your not going to have a bad bite indication.....it makes absolutely no difference as long as you have enough weight to keep bobber straight up and down and thin enough line.....too much weight or not enough weight with thick line will effect it.....only way it makes a difference is if your putting that sinker on the bottom like a drop shot.....instesd of a few ft above the bottom......
@YourMomsPlaceLastNight
Ай бұрын
@aaronalto3034 Ice fishing for crappies is way different......and jigs are not always the ticket......you do not have wind and waves, and you're using a much smaller bobber......you should try a bare red hook and minnow.....best way to catch walleyes through the ice too......

I am so bummed out. With the early ice out I thought I was going to have a lot of great early open water fishing this year but now instead I'm having a total knee replacement soon and will even miss the walleye opener while I recuperate.
