    You boys are using the bent shaft paddles bass ackwards. They are designed to give more forward reach so the bend faces forward. Less scooping and downward force at the end of the stroke with them too compared t straight shaft paddle.

    Tip. Marabou jig will out fish any other crappie jig. Bar none. Something to due with the movement of the hair jig. Red & white. The color. Add a crappie nibble for scent. Bass pro& Cabela's sells them. No bobber. Cast and retrieve. Works best. Good luck.

    Your bite indication is going to suck with a sinker above the jig. You were probably getting bit, but then rejected quickly with plastic. Why not just run the jig and bobber? So awesome that you're doing fishing adventures in a canoe.

  • @YourMomsPlaceLastNight

    @YourMomsPlaceLastNight

    That makes absolutely no sense......when using small crappie jigs and you want them to get down 10ft......that small jig would take a very long time to float down.....and if you do not have enough weight underneath your bobber it won't sit straight up and down.......nor will your bobber be nearly as sensitive to bites.....a bite indication is your bobber going underwater lol.....and having a small sinker above your jig doesn't make it not go under water......

  • @aaronalto3034

    @aaronalto3034

    Ай бұрын

    @@YourMomsPlaceLastNight That's how I do it, no sinker, and heavier tungsten. I wouldn't fish with a sinker above my jig in winter for same reasons of sloppier bite indications. That said, a buddy does, and he still does some catching. Tight lines.

  • @YourMomsPlaceLastNight

    @YourMomsPlaceLastNight

    Ай бұрын

    @aaronalto3034 it's no different than having a sinker above a bare hook......and your not going to have a bad bite indication.....it makes absolutely no difference as long as you have enough weight to keep bobber straight up and down and thin enough line.....too much weight or not enough weight with thick line will effect it.....only way it makes a difference is if your putting that sinker on the bottom like a drop shot.....instesd of a few ft above the bottom......

  • @YourMomsPlaceLastNight

    @YourMomsPlaceLastNight

    @aaronalto3034 Ice fishing for crappies is way different......and jigs are not always the ticket......you do not have wind and waves, and you're using a much smaller bobber......you should try a bare red hook and minnow.....best way to catch walleyes through the ice too......
