Thanks for the update Gbolahan. It looks like the real operation will start the 4th quarter 2024 or 1st quarter 2025. Corruption at the highest is the reason why Lagos has not grown to the smart city status. God helps Nigeria.

It will probably start commercial operations by the 3rd or 4th quarters of 2024.

Good for Lagos. It would have been a LITTLE bit nicer if the two lines would connect at Marina. I feel a bit sorry for Talgo, I understand that they are not in the race anymore and Dalian won. But with the weak Naira, I am sure that the Lagos government considers really well before they spend money on trains from abroad. Maybe Nigeria will build its own trains in Kajola soon.

The two lines will eventually connect at Marina. The 2nd phase of the redline will extends all the way to Iddo, Ebute-Ero and Marina. Then the green line will extend from Marina to Lekki free trade zone. Hopefully in the future, Nigeria should be able to build its own train at the Kajola wagon assembly plant.

I don't understand what you meant by Talgo lost and Dalian won. When then #Redline begin operations, the retrofitted Talgo coaches will ply that route as intended, however in a test or two rolling stock (coaches) from China will be added to complement the Talgo coaches. It's just like opening the Oshodi - Abule Ẹ̀gbá BRT lane with Yutong buses, later new fllet of electric buses @ Mercedes were added to the route. Also you need to consider that: 1. The #Redline will be extended into Ogun state as 3 or 4 more train stations are to be built in Ogun state 2. The #Redline will further be linked with the #Blueline to Marina So there is the need for more coaches. Dalian is the best bet to get these coaches quicker than Talgo.

Thanks a lot sir GB, I don't it's ready for commissioning, the Agbado station is lying on the floor, the fagba Iju bridge has not even seen the light of the day, more pedestrian bridges need to be constructed especially at busy busy stops like pen cinema etc, traders are still trading on the railroad and moreover the rail corridor is very dirty and filthy, but trust Nigerians they always love commissioning half completed projects which is never done in any sane clime, they should complete it before the commissioning, that's why I don't support that lekki airport project, they won't complete it, you are fantastic Gbolahan

Agbado Station should be re-named as Agbadosville or Agbado Terminus NOT just Agbado, Mushin Station should be called Mushin Central. Infact Mushin Central should have on its display "Mushin Central, If you can survive in Mushin!, you can survive anywhere in Nigeria!"

Shouldn't they finalise job creation and skill transfer technology before payment? That's the most important part. Now that they've already paid without finalising that part, what makes the governor think they can't change their mind tomorrow?Nigerian government business approach is baffling to say the least.Woow lagos need trees and rain, looks like a desert.😅Test run on the red line might not take that long, the blue line is different, they laid the track from the ground up,whereas the red line is basically using an already existing NRC line, with signalling and relay already funtional..I would be surprised if test run on red line is more than a month at most.Thank you mate.

When you sign a contract with someone, you have to follow some rules and expectations. These are called contractual agreement and Service Level Agreement (SLA). They help both parties to know what they are supposed to do and how they will be rewarded. It's not realistic to expect that someone will pay you 100% upfront before you start working. That's not how it works in most cases. You have to deliver some results first and then get paid according to the terms of the contract.

Just like the #Blueline, it will be commissioned but won't be opened for passenger and commercial activities yet. It'll undergo series of test running for like 4 to 6 months before it's opened to public use. You realise it shares tracks with NRC so they have to get the signaling and sharing of tracks in perfect order before it's finally opened for public use, hopefully the Agbado station should be ready by then
