Inside The Lagos Redline Train || What Next After Commissioning? || Redline 2nd Phase

In this video I will be showing inside the Lagos redline talgo trains before retrofitting and after retrofitting to be use for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit as the train wasn’t originally built for a mass transit. Also I will sharing the details of the 2nd phase of the Lagos Redline rail as construction for the second phase of the rail project will be starting soon. I will also be sharing information on what next after commissioning of the project. When is it expected to start commercial operations, how long will lagosians wait before they can get on board the train etc.

    Lagos green line I feel should be next. The Lekki axis is growing rapidly and with the Lagos Arena in 2025, you’re gonna need mass transit or else there will be big hold ups whenever Asake wants to perform 😅

    Thank you…. The train was originally designed for inter state in the USA but the project had some challenges. Lagos saw the opportunity and bought it. The sitting arrangement was rearranged to fit into mass transit.

    Tjey can't do that because i heard (don't know how true it is though) that once the Red line trains are delivered in December, the state government wants to hand these trains to the federal government for the inter state travel. Which means the trains were purchased to kick start operations pending the time when the manufactured trains get here

    The government is doing that and it will be completed before they start the commercial services on the train. The governor has said that all the stations will be walled from the train tracks due to the type of people that we are. Ordinarily, such a wall is not required but as Nigerians, we are stubborn people to control.

    The plugs between the seats are still America plugs, so they are useless for Nigerian devices. Surely they could have at least changed them. That's a minus.

    This metro rail is aimed at catering passengers from one state to another. This is not designed to serve inter city passengers. The blue line perfectly matches its purpose. The question is why? Does it mean to say that LAMATA personnel are DUMB? OR personal interest is the primary purpose.

    Very nice. Commissioning is not the problem, how about the maintenance? This is the problem we have in Nigeria 🇳🇬 when it comes to our infrastructure. Please vote enough funds to keep the maintenance going.

    @@emmanuelogundipe3328 For now. I am talking about the longevity. Who will be maintaining the train,tracks and the whole nine yards? Local or international? Nigeria is has a very poor record when it comes to maintaining anything. Just take a look at all the roads, airport was built but it looks like crap due to maintenance issues. You can't just build,you must maintain. Call your lawmakers and report any problems concerning any maintenance issues before things get worse.

  • @emmanuelogundipe3328

    @emmanuelogundipe3328

    @@taiwoidowu2854 Well there is a huge difference between something that's not being maintained and something that became obsolete. The trains we used to have became obsolete and they worked until they couldn't. It wasn't because of lack of maintenance, it was because in Nigeria we expect one machine to serve us for life. Upgrade is the problem. About the roads and airport, same could be said, if you noticed, the Lagos airport regained significance after the upgrade. Concerning the roads, well maintenance is one thing and quality is another. I live in Lagos and I've come to realize that we have bad roads in Lagos, not because of maintenance or upgrade but because of overuse. Road is the major form of transportation in Nigeria and Lagos. The roads are always busy and the thing about it is that a road construction has a life span. Let's say 10yrs, and then in space of two and half years, it begins to deteriorate. Some roads can't even survive under maintenance unless the road is reconstructed and sometimes it's due to vandalism. I've seen where people break the interlocking used on the road just so they can take one out and use it for personal use. Another instance is a truck driver that's driving along the road with rims, no tires. The maintenance of any infrastructure is not left to the government alone. It's for all of us, we should learn to take ownership. If they say don't do this on the train, don't do it. If you do, then you'll also be part of the problem as regards to maintenance

    Black man and their maintenance culture is 0% if they don't maintain it, those chairs will turn black and dirty. The toilets will be smelly and dirty. Windows broken and dirty, air-conditioning broken. Appliances broken. Negligence behaviour. What is supposed to be updated will be overlooked It will turn into lagos public vehicles as they are now. My poor father who is late would have been pleased to see this. It was a very slow progress in development. Thank God my dad lived abroad to experience this.
