Lagos to Calabar can take just about 5 hours with this coastal highway.

Great video! I can’t get over the long stretch of beach front towards the end of the video with poorly planned settlements. That’s prime real estate laid to waste.

All land are not supposed to be used up for structures. You must have some which should be bare with zero structures for some balance to the ecosystem.

Interestingly, the Lagos - Calabar coastal Highway is not the shortest route to Calabar. The shortest and most efficient one (east west road) hasn't been completed 😂😂😂

Will the coastal road merge with the Lekki free trade zone road from Eleko roundabout? Or will it still take a different path alongside the free trade zone?

This is good economic development for the country with easy of transportation and trading activities of our people

So will the coastal road merge with the road under construction along the Dangote refinery?

All the sections is supposed to be under construction at the same time so the project can be completed quicker.

Could this be as a result of personality clash between Tinubu and Obasanjo who started it? It would have been better if the first road was completed before embarking on the new one. Let a situation not be created where the two roads remain incomplete thereby creating a lot of transit problems for Nigerians.

It'll be intriguing to observe whether the Lagos state government opts to place the proposed Green line metro along this road, presenting a cost-effective alternative. A win-win situation for all.

The green line was proposed to run along the Lekki-Epe Expressway but it can be updated to run along this highway as it will be cost effective and easier to link to the Marina train station.

Landmark is going nowhere, but all that beachfront from i.e oniru, landmark & good beach are all going. So no beach, just hotels and malls. All that landfilling will cover the beaches for Eko Atlantic city as licensed by Obasanjo administration. Coastal road or not, all the beach owners knew they were going to lose the beaches to Eko Atlantic city project anyway. Beachfronts belong to federal government, not even state govt & certainly not individuals

I believe They should have elevated the highway a little bit because of the ocean surge. We cannot wait to use the highway and I hope it is completed on time, 8 years.

It wouldn’t…. If you watch to the end where I showed the Eleko side, the road drifts away from the shoreline though still very close to the beach front. The reason why the starting point is very close to the beach front was because those place are already built up with different buildings and structures.

I love the thickness, this will last for centuries

This is very massive development but I think 8years is too far to deliver this project

Because it is a road for Lagos being built by the federal government. The only way they can deceive us is by saying it is going all the way to Calabar meanwhile Lagos coastal road is nothing new. This 10 lane concrete road will end in Epe. The rest is not real! 8 years my foot!

Landmark should relocate to Akwa Ibom State.. The Ibeno beach is the longest Sand beach in Africa 🌍

All beach resorts require access to the beach, by constructing a highway right between the resorts and the beach is more or less destroying all those businesses. The government might not be pulling down the structures but constructing the road where they are planning as the same effect. True the government owns the land but they should also be sensitive to the established businesses along the corridor. going through the preexisting road in front of the landmark resort would have been a no-brainer for the government.it’s not always that you have to flex your federal might especially if there is an alternative.

I trust Minister of Work just the way i trust former works minster Babatunde Fashola

But I don't see any space for train tracks there

They should have built long tall fly overs along any part of the coastal areas that has already been populated with businesses. That's how it's done everywhere. The way they are building it, it's prone to flooding which will halt businesses and movement.

The minister just said it yesterday that no property will be demolished around landmark

Develop time t is key, but my sympathy is with the Landmark stakeholders and community, there has to be another way of having a win-win. Besides, I'm concerned if the land reclamation aciltivity will not lead to flooding in the future.

Please any idea about how many Workers are already Employed now for the road Construction and needed for the whole Project? Unfortunately one harly hears about this kind of information even about the Starting of the Railways in between the roads. Thanks for All.

Instead of encouraging investment and building hotels, amusement parks like Miami , Hawaii ,which will bring jobs for many years , they want to build a road that has no derivative benefits after construction is done.
