Archelon is very nostalgic to me because I used to volunteer at a marine rescue center and marine turtles were pretty much the only thing we looked after, so seeing them again in one of my fave zoo sims is refreshing all my memories of that time. For example, most of them were temporary patients that we released relatively frequently, but there were three that because of their health conditions couldn't be released and thus they were permanent residents, and since they were the oldest ones in the center they were absolutely huge (like "they have to be moved by at least three or more people" kinda huge).

I feel like people forget that sea turtles are a type of marine reptile that still persist to today, they just don’t get as much love as Mosasaurs and Plesiosaurs

Now all we need is a jellyfish feeder for the Archelon.

If you can get the platform out of the water (I’m guessing it’s locked to the water so you’d need the free build mod), you should definitely try sinking some rocks into it so pterosaurs can land on it

Archelon skins are stunning.

The rock social animation reminds me of sea lions. They can be grumpy if another tries to steal their resting spot. But big miss with the Mosasaur 😢…

I could understand that, Mosasaurus wasn’t really a social creature.

11:30 I don't, LOL, Protostegids are often found with Mosasaur bite marks and one was apparently eaten by a Cretodus specimen recently described in Italy.

I'm share BiS' opinion in that I understand why they have chosen to not give them any interactions. But yeah, the fossil record shows that these poor fellas were frequently hunted by at least the largest predators.

Hope they give us the rock platform in all the different rock colors.

Really wish Archelon had a floating idle animation like Sea Turtles do in the wild just floating on the surface. A lot of cool behaviors Sea Turtles have that I had hoped to at least see a glimpse of in the Archelon Animations.

They're just so relaxing to watch, too, I could watch them for hours.

I’ve been waiting for this thing for 2 years. It’s glorious finally seeing it.

I was hoping Frontier would adjust the aquatics' AI so they would spend more time in the deeper parts of the lagoon instead of staying in the top 1/3 of it 95% of the time.

People complain about how boring they look when they are on the rock but it makes sense. They spend all of their energy on swimming and lugging themselves onto the rock the last thing they would do would be crawl around. The details are actually pretty good.

Considering we have fossil turtle shells that seem to have been bitten through by mosasaurs it would have been cool to have seen some animations with them.

It’s actually believed that Archelon would have a leathery shell which would also make it more of a target for large Mosasaurs which did hunt them in real life.

Hey BIS, just reposting this so there’s a better chance of you seeing this (sorry). Potential video idea: At the end of JWE2’s life cycle (whenever that is), maybe you could do a “looking back” video on the JWE franchise. I know the franchise is a huge part of your channel and is how many of your subscribers found you. Maybe you could look back to your old speculation videos, talk about what you wanted from the games, rank the DLCs, etc.

Archelon is my favorite of the pack. I love sea turtles and this gives me serious leatherback energy!

11:00 it's easier to move forward the flippers without water resistance, and then using this one as propulsion moving them backwards. So yes it makes sense even if turtles are still not smart enough to do so irl

Isn't this kawaii na? These two huge prehistoric sea turtles are doing a reference to Bloom Into You. See, the Archelon tries to push the other over, but it slaps him with its flipper and leaves. Sorta like how Yuu tries to sit next to Touko and tries to get close, but she slaps her and scoots back. Coincidence? I think so. 🥰

I just hope modders will find a way to add some new types of rockpillars idk that look more islandish for future moddet creatures.

Why are the lagoon rocks not researchable in the campaigns?!

My only nitpick is that there's no way an archelon (or any sea turtle) would be fast enough to catch a tuna.

They should have created seagrasses, and seaweed for the Archelon. I don't think it eat fish in real life.

Neither that probably. They might eated jellyfish, like leatherback turtles, but that hook on Archelon's beak gives us an idea that they might have eat something harder then seagrasses and jellyfishes.

Man… with all these new aquatic species I would love to see Deinosuchus or any prehistoric gator or croc. Amphibious would be cool as well like Beezlebufo

To be fair, it is a lot easier to swing the arms forward in air, when you wouldn't be getting much propulsion anyway, and then sweep them back once they return to the water.

All except for Mosa and Tylo. Which makes sense, as they're typically antisocial, but then again, don't the Indoraptor and the Scorpios Rex have social animations?

I like turtles

The fact that these dont come in the base game with the updates is jarring, 4 species that have barley anything to do besides social animations and eating stuff. Like i bought the feather pack i just got bored with it, i dont wanna just watch creatures wander around for 6 hours. just a waste of money for a short time dopeamine rush. Smh like all im paying for at this point is animations, thats it, this game just feels so bare and lifeless, i cant make caves, i cant make a waterfall, theres just absolutely no customization when it comes to terrain. all i want is a dinosaur game that i can enjoy without having to spend 800 dollars on a pc and then and only then can i enjoy a type of game ive wanted to play for decades. I dont want to spend my hard earned cash on something that universal as a company clearly dosnt care about. I just want to give up at this point tbh.
