When I was a kid and saw the scene where Paul is running while holding the Narf, I didn't see the wolf and literally just assumed he was being empathetic and like, "Oh, you're screaming! OK! AAAAHHH!!! I'M SUPPORTIVE!!!!"

That'd be a great scene for, like, a ghost movie parody. Just imagine it: A guy is talking to a girl or something that can see ghosts. All of a sudden, the girl looks at a seemingly empty corner of the room and gasps. The guy looks at the corner and gasps too. The girl asks, "Do you see it too?", to which the guy replies, "No, I was just humoring you".

The followup: "You got me there with the LEGO Movie, but everyone loves LEGOs. No brainer that it would be a hit. Care to raise the wager with something more?" "Fine. Double or nothing. I'll make a sequel based on the LEGO Batman character. Not only will it be good enough to get nominated for tons of awards, but also it will be arguably the best Batman movie since the Dark Knight."

That needs to be a sketch series or something haha. Some other people involved could be the Russos and James Gunn. “Hey James, I dare you to make a movie about an obscure Marvel property that not only becomes a hit, but makes audiences feel emotion towards a talking tree and a talking racoon with a bad temper.” “Pftt, you’re on. Oh and just for extra fun, I’ll cast that fat guy from Parks and recreation and make him attractive.”

Maybe not a movie but I do know about at least one case where this was true for a TV show. An indie animator named Danny Antonucci, best known for creating gruesome and bizarre adult animated shorts and MTV filler material, was dared by one of his friends to make a kids cartoon and actually get it on the air. And that's where Ed Edd n Eddy came from.

Lady in the Water is a work of art and a masterpiece. I enjoyed it from start to finish without dozing off after coming back from work long hours. I typically get tired and go to bed after work, but this beautiful film kept me awake. Until the very end of the movie when Cleveland and Story say goodbye, I shed a tear. You, Nostalgia Critic, as well as many ignorant fools in this world, are lost and not aware of an amazing movie when you see one. But that's alright to be an fool. As the movie says, every person has a purpose. There is meaning for fools in this world.

To be honest, I think that if Shamylan would have changed the the story and worked on the characters and editing a bit, this movie would have been much better. For example, why call it a Narf and not a Nymph? Why not call those monsters the Nymphs are scared of Pond Hounds instead of whatever name they got? Why not have the writer have a more water related ritual, like chanting while in the pool, making those small ritualistic dance? What if Shamylan would have decreased the amount of praise he gets in this movie and instead be wrong about what he says, and instead have the Nymph giving him a prophecy about having a beautiful wife who will share his passion for art and inherit it for the next generation, too, spreading wisdome and knowledge across the globe with their writing? What if the scene where Giamatti and the Nymph run away from the Pond Hounds would show shady bits of their appereance while while bark and run as fast as possible towards the two? What if the muscle guy who was the one who stopped the Pond Hounds was in fact a god among men for more than hyndreds of years? What if the signs were seen in a Griddler quiz? Seriously, look at all the possibilities I had in mind, and it makes ten times more sense than this bullshit!

+O.R. Studios While your ideas do sound interesting, think about it, that would be too simple for Shamylan. Nooo, to make what u said Shamylan grade you'll have to tear it up, shred it and then put the pieces back together in an in-cohesive order. Wait did i just remake Lady in the Water based on your story lool. Gotta say the man does what he wants and i respect him for it, even if most of it is meeehhh.

"To be honest, I think that if Shamylan would have changed the the story and worked on the characters and editing a bit, this movie would have been much better." The problem is that you're thinking like a decent storyteller. To understand this movie, you have to think like the most egocentric person in the world, who believes he's the second coming of Hitchcock, thinks he's the most brilliant storyteller in existence, that he's misunderstood by critics, and that he'll change the world if only people listen to him. That is, without exaggeration, the message of the film.

I don't understand why ppl didn't like this movie, like the mystical part and ppl actually coming together for an actual purpose is amazing, ppl who didn't think they were anybody became ppl have great importance to mankind itself, but they didn't seem to get that like, this movie is amazing!!!

Fun fact; this movie was originally a bedtime story Shyamalan did tell his kids before turning it into both a book and a movie at the same time. So yes the names like Narf, Story, Scrunts were for intended for the kids demographic.
