It's a great performance, no doubt about that. But it mostly takes great planning, preparation and incredible skill from the fighter pilots to fly over the stadium exactly at the right moment performing a procedure called 'time over target'. I must have been living in a bubble and please excuse my ignorance. This is the first performance I ever saw from Lady Gaga. Before I just heard a lot of criticism about her dressing and how she was a Madonna wannabe. This performance just made me realize how foul the press can be. Up until today I still watch this video and tears come out of my eyes. It's so true that a book can't be judged by the cover. I opened the book and found many interesting chapters on Lady Gaga: with Tony Bennett when I immediately realized that she is not just any singer she is also a performer who tells the story through melodies with the timbre of her beautiful voice to make us feel what she is interpreting. No wonder my former classmate Steve Kortyka enjoys every performance with you. And when I heard "Shallow" you just knocked me off my feet. Definitely agree that Lady Gaga is the best artist of the last 20 years. Thank you for so much good music! Sending lots of love, positive energy, and blessings.

The best rendition I have heard. I remember telling people she was going to kill it for that Super Bowl. Sad people thing she is “weird” and don’t realize she is one of the best vocalist of our generation.

This is just perfect. Her vocal technique and her interpretation is out of this world. I can’t wait for her to sing it again in a few days!!

I wouldn't say best. It was good (and far from the disaster that some other singers' was), but Whitney's was still the best.

From a Sopranos background actress to performing one of the greatest renditions of our national anthem. What an immensely talented woman.

I listen to this rendition often and it always brings a tear to my eye. Tears of pride and honor to the Americans that have brought us so far from our origins. Thank you M'am for inspiring us all so brilliantly. As a veteran on Memorial Day I humbly thank you!

She actually means it when she sings it. Gave me chills.

It's not just the vocals, it's the emotion thst really gets me. It's about so much more than just singing and Gaga put her heart and soul into it. After Whitney, she and Demi this year are my faves.

hate how ppl compare her performance here to her rendition at the inauguration. it must have been nerve-wracking for her bc it's the fcking inauguration. And the cold weather is also a major factor. Her renditions at both events are pretty incredible. PERIOD.

I listened to it several times, and my tears dripped involuntarily.

The contrast between her strong commanding singing voice, and her little girl voice when she says "God bless you America" at the end, is staggering!!

PERFECT PERFORMANCE. UNUSUAL voice and pitching notes -- nobody else like her. I'm glad the planes flew over with her voice -- which was unusual, as well. I love the childlike voice ... She is PURE, PERFECT, and I keep living because of her.

This blows me away every time I've watched it! She added just enough of her own style to the song without bastardizing it, no gobblelygook vocal calisthenics as has been done so often in the past. Pure class! ❤

Well done Ms. Gaga. You pinned and nailed every single note so effortlessly just like Whitney Houston back in 1991.

Lady Gaga is a superb singer who understands the drama of music. I wouldn't put in all the ornamentation as I think it detracts from the song but her rendition is truly beautiful.

This version always makes me cry. The most beautiful rendition of our national anthem imo

I remember watching this with family and friends and honestly was so blind to Lady Gaga's singing ability before this. I think most of us were, and a lot of us were talking and kind of not paying much attention at first when this came on during the game, then she starting singing and we all were sitting there in shock with our mouths open by how unbelievably amazing she was, this brought tears to my eyes and opened up my eyes to the shear talent of this woman. I've been a fan ever since. Performance is truly unforgettable.

Best Super bowl performance is Gaga. Most appropriate style for the occasion and nailed it spectacularly. That's why the incomparable Whitney Houston didn't win this one lip sync or not.

Lady Gaga has the best performance, extremely clear speech, her voice literally singing with the music, and her voice sounds so good that it sounds as the best match for the anthem. If I listened to the anthem on a recording and if I had to choose which one is the 'original' this will be it!
