I noticed this too. They had some more unique stuff back in the early to mid 2000's and got super popular, but some of their latest stuff like pretty much the entire black anima album as well as "bad things" and a few others show that they have really found their sound and the writing is just unreal. Like you said, every aspect improved so much which is a massive accomplishment when you're already a really popular band. and don't get me started on Delirium holy fuck most of that album is just insane as well...can't believe this band i saw like 13 or 14 years ago kept going and putting out so much badass music...now i just been listening to all their albums for like a month lol I CAN'T STOP

Their music has always been very basic so nothing wowed me on that side.

I've been listening to this version more than the studio version lately solely because of how she changes her pitch in the second part of the second chorus. God damn she's so fuckin good.

She's been put allways as contralto singer, although she can do higher. In House of shame (2016-2018) she goes pretty high (probably one of her highest notes), but sometimes live loses power. But she had this like allways. On the contrary i would say her voice is getting better with age, or still holds and she is better pro now, lol. Either way, you can often see how effortlesly she pulls out such powerful notes, it is crazy - amazing technique, volume and breath control. She is absolute pro, i would say one of best singers, not only in rock/metal scene.

This woman is one of the primary reasons for the explosion of female vocalists that we have in metal music. Christina and Andreas laid the ground work for creating a perfect male and female singing duo. They really are such a major influence for being a very humble, obscure band from Italy. I really wish they would get more play here in the states.

It's Cristina, without "h". And I don't think she is one of the primary reasons. Tarja, Floor, Anneke, and Vibeke were in much more popular bands and are often cited as inspirations by other female vocalists.

Yep...not only that but this woman is also one of THE absolute greatest live performers of all time, especially from about 2000-2009...brought all of her physicality into it back then...just a monster.

@@Snus83 you do realize when Lacuna Coil started 20 yrs ago, that Tarja was still the vocalist in Nightwish. I don't think Floor was known. Tarja and Cristina are older. Cristina is in her late 40s now. Floor Jansen is much younger. And the second replacement after Nightwish fired Tarja.

@@Snus83 you forgot Sharon den Adel, who is one of the most important female rock/metal singers of all time, unless in Europe. In adiction, Annekke is amazing too, but Lacuna Coil is more successful than The Gathering or any of the of the other bands she has been envolved

So many people praising Christina's voice here but no praise for Andrea's on point screams and singing

Well I suppose he takes a big part in music arrangement and text writing it`s first. Second point is: his voice is more for screaming songs, like this, yes he is not as melodical as some other dudes, but this band wouldn`t be Lacuna Coil without him, simply 20 years togethah, stop hating plz =)

I got hooked to this band for the bass. Piano, harp, jews harp,cello, all at once, even then nothing but thunder.

Wow they sound the same whether it's Live or Recorded. That dude screamin is incredible and they're good performers.

Saw them in Dallas at the Granada a few weeks ago. Simply stunning and moving at so many levels.

There is NO trickery with any of their live performances...Lacuna Coil is the real million deal. To those of you that haven't had the experience yet to see Lacuna Coil, I cannot stress the divine, and powerfully mesmerizing experience your soul has never embraced before LC.

Album versions of their songs are awesome, but I love how she changes things up some in live versions and still sounds just as good, or even better sometimes.

They sound just as good live

Dude I was there trying to jump, headbang and mosh but people around me just stood still looking like they have no idea what are they doing there :( it was even worse with old school songs that I went nuts during :/ just sad

I have seen them twice as well, hope to make it a third time in July in wisconsin. They are my favorite band and have been for close to 20 years now.

My God....is this real? This sound so studio like they are lip singing! My God if this is real, they have one of the best live performers, and by far one of the best sound men to every record a live concert The mix is impeccable.

Absolutely spectacular one of the best bands ever live incredible I've seen lacuna coil about 4 times just spectacular although I have seen Epica around 10 times Delain around 5 times plus the countless times I've seen hundreds of other bands. what I really love about bands like lacuna coil is the fact that only hardcore fans of the Bands will go and see them which makes it a very special experience.

When you ask for perfection, Lacuna Coil Respond! What an amazing, mindblowing performance. Andrea and Cristina are simply a perfect match. The lyrics and melody structure, the intertwined vocals that support each others.. Listen again, full of fine details.

I love how Andrea went from "the guy in Lacuna Coil who occasionally does some growls, but I don't really know why he is in the band" to... this. The latest records actually have a few songs that are more focused on his parts, where Cristina kind of takes a bit of a "backing vocals" role, and his performance is spot on, unlike some of the old live recordings I've heard... love the developement of this band, the attitude, on and off stage. The "we wrote heavier songs for the recent records, they're just more fun to play live" route they've been taking at least since "Broken crown halo". Not gonna lie, when I was getting into metal, the songs they played were kinda ok to me, but Cristina was just stupidly hot, lost track of them for years, they dropped this as a single, gave it a try, and had to pick my jaw up from the floor. "There is no way the band that made 'Our truth' just got THAT heavy after so many years, that's just not how things work". Fell in love that day. And honestly, there are few people that just radiate positivity like Cristina does. She goes on stage, smiling, and every single person in the room starts smiling.
