    Greetings from the home club of Sam H and LAB putters! As you might guess, about half the guys in men's club here are using the putter. I've been using mine for 18 months and can't even go back to anything else. It's a huge reason why I'm a 2 and not a 4 or 5 handicap haha. I've always wanted to get that thing on the quintic to see how it rolls so this was a special treat. Thanks guys.

    I decided to carry and fit the L.A.B. golf putters after seeing it for the first time and pretty much having the same results as Matt. It's crazy how easy it is to start the ball rolling and in the right direction. I couldn't get in fast enough actually. This putter is the real deal.

    Robert, or TXG. What would you recommend as far as the press angle? 1.5 or 3 degree for this Directed Force Putter? I’m 5’11”, pretty standard swing shape I think. Left Eye over the ball. I think the default is 3 degrees but I see a nice refurbished one right now at their outlet store at 1.5 degree. I did the video fitting with them and they told me 35” and 69 degree lie angle. They mention any specific press angle. Thanks in advance.

    Easiest putter I have ever hit. So easy to repeat your stroke and take your mind out of this stroke and put it visualizing the ball going into the hole. I have Scotty's, Odyssey and Spiders that I have rotated through over the last few years....and this is BY FAR the most stable and consistent of them. I think that one of the areas the video missed is the 'feel' of the ball off the face. Some faces feel too soft, while others feel heavy to me. This one feels 'smooth'...not necessarily quantifiable, but for me it is important. I was worried that they would miss the unique forward press grip. Glad they didn't. I have always wondered if my 'normal' press is really consistent. It is BY FAR the part of the stroke that offers the greatest variable, and variables in putting is NEvER good. I think their approach in putting your hands in the same spot each and every stroke is brilliant. Great review!

    Made every putt ! Immediate Lie Angle improvement with LAB putter which will allow for a more consistent stroke. Starship head loves to go back and through easily. Good overall analysis and review. Get fitted. Invest. Improve both grip & stroke. Practice. Fall in love with putting ..... o ___ ! As for the cost, the putter is the most used in the bag - 28-38 strokes per round (100% more than driver); the driver may get used 14 times and we easily spend $300-$500 for one every year or so.

    Nothing makes coffee more bitter in the morning then seeing Matty on the dark side. Obviously as this video illustrates an amazing amount of information being processed during a fit not just putter, how does TXG accommodate that in the tour experience fit? How does TXG continue to adjust the experience from client feedback? Sorry for the off the wall question. Great video👍 Love the conversations that get going between Mr. Fraser and Mr. Blois.

    @Jonathan Sliwinski Hey Jonathan- 4-mos playing this putter and it’s still in the bag. There’s a certain something that I can’t put in words but my putting seems better than my other putter (Evnroll). It rolls really true. There’s a video on how to position the ball by LAB putters on KZread that helped in addressing the ball. I bought the triple sight lines on my putter and use the Calloway triple line ball that really helped me line up my put. I’d say I improved my putting by 3 strokes/round. But sometimes the hole moves from my line and the ball doesn’t go in!!

    @Jonathan Sliwinski I’m an engineering golf geek and proud of it. I looked at the Pyramid putter also, but went w LAB for the video fitting to determine what’s my lie angle and recommended length. I find that putting square is easier with this LAB compared to my Evnroll.

    The grip is kinda cool also because the forward shaft lean is built in; I think it’s the #2 grip. I’ve enjoyed this putter a lot this summer. I’ve 3-putted a lot less because of this or I’ve 3-putted less because I’ve become a better putter? The LAB rep I emailed with was very helpful even after the build was complete. I’m a lefty so that #2 grip was put on backwards. Something to think about.

    All these Futuristic Tools to help you play better golf. Imagine, they won tournaments way way back in the day like the 1800s all from feel... The golfers back in the day didn't have perfect swings, they didn't do all the things we do nowadays and they still played better golf than most. The Professional Golfers of yesteryear were incredibly in tune with their games. With inferior equipment & no gizmos to help. Just puts it into perspective. They had to be incredible, they had no help.

    Hi, I have been following this putter for a number of years and during that period have tried the normal glut of putters on the market with mixed success. I have found an authorised L.A.B. fitter in the UK and intend to visit them once UK lock down is over in early December. Whilst I have been playing golf in the UK for over 30 years I have only once been fitted and that was for a driver which has remained in my bag for 3.5 years now (world record for me). Therefore the next club i buy will be a fitted putter and this looks a go. Your posting really helped me in making that decision, it was both informative and easy to understand so props for you there. Can you advise since you made this posting last year what has been the general response and success rate in fitting the DF for golfers who have visited you. I would be interested to hear from you. Thanks, Mark.

    Another great video. After watching this and realizing it is more about the face angle at impact, What is the effect of taking the factory grip off and changing it? If the new grip is not applied perfectly straight to the face, how much does that affect your putting. I have always installed new putter grips using a level on the face and a level on the grip to try and get them to be 90 degrees apart. It works for me but my thought on this may be incorrect.

    You could certainly try it, and a few of the pros who’ve used it have put super strokes on it (Dufner and recently Jimmy Walker come to mind). The press grip was weird at first but once I got used to it, I love it because it makes putting much more simple. It could also mess up lines because it’s designed for the optimal amount of forward press already.

    I will only compare Driver to Putter, to say that even if putting lights-out, you will use your putter on TWICE as many shots per round as you will use your driver. More bang for your buck from a usage standpoint. As with most things, you can find a deal on a used one on eBay, but it's CRITICAL you know your length and lie angle (send L.A.B. a remote fitting video to figure this out). And you'll have to be patient if you go this route, as there are only a handful available at any one time.

    Had one a couple years ago that I was professionally fitted for by a fitter in NYC along with a putting lesson. Firstly, the camera may distort things a bit but the thing is beyond HUGE! Ive used a number of oversized putters but this one was crazy level big. Never loved the sound and feel off the face and I just never felt comfortable with the putter. Cost me quite a bit of coin and then sold it just weeks later at about half the price on eBay. Unfortunate because I really wanted to make this putter work. Just as an aside, there was also some weird back and forth between father and son who owned the company and some falling out between them to the point where it distracted from any goodness that may have existed around the putter. Hope all that got cleared up.

    I’m not a scientist or a club-fitter, but, these roll numbers look pretty good for the LAB. :) LOL Start of Forward Rotation: 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 Zero Skid after: 14.2, 15, 15, 15, 17 Better than the first putter (Oddessy?...doesn't matter, really). With less torque. And added confidence due to the size of the club head. What’s not to love about this putter? P.S. I’m an early adopter of this technology and have been rolling this putter for years. P.P.S. If the numbers indicate that you're hitting down on the ball, consider moving the ball slightly forward in your stance. I wouldn't ever dream of offering putting swing advice especially to experts like y'all. However, that slight adjustment can make a difference when using the Presse Grip. :)

    The 2.1 is super forgiving on toe and heel strikes. So much so, that I can look at the flagstick when I put and it aids greatly in distance control for me.

    Doesn’t the forward press grip remove the neutrality of the whole concept, and introduce some inbalance ?

  • @tomdiebold79

    @tomdiebold79

    4 жыл бұрын

    Absolutely not. The design of the Press Grip and the design of the club itself allow your hands to be in a neutral position. If you get fitted (remote video fitting works great) the balance is phenomenal.

    And if it could make putts like these do, I'd use a broom handle on a block of cheese. It's all about getting the ball to rattle in the bottom of the cup, and not the looks of the putter. These WORK for that purpose!

    Shouldn’t lie angle be dictated by the stance in which the player’s eyes “see a straight putt”?

  • @tomdiebold79

    @tomdiebold79

    4 жыл бұрын

    If you have a stance in which you "see a straight putt", send in a remote fitting video and they will be able to build one for you at the right length and lie angle, and then they balance to that spec. They shoot for an F5 swing-weight, and are now using tungsten instead of lead to do the balancing which gives better feel.

    Unless the rules have changed in the newest rule book the most upright lie angle allowed in a conforming putter is 80 degrees. Wouldn't this putter in the wrong hands encourage play with a non-conforming club.
