Kwikset Halo Wifi Lock - Rehanding
1. Remove battery packet
2. Hold program button (3 seconds) while dropping battery packet in
3. Deadbolt will move back and worth
This is if your lock needs trouble shooting or the deadbolt is clicking/going in wrong direction.

    man thanks, the deadbolt wld stop halfway or wherever it decided to stop but it never wld fully lock and protrude or fully unlock you were right, mine took about 30 seconds to rehand, it kept turning back and forth and finally fixed itself so THANKS !

    It worked! Thank you so much. Not sure why a properly installed lock, as we had, suddenly would “lose” its handing. Batteries, perhaps? Even though mine read 60%, I replaced them as part of the process.

    Could be battery sometimes weather can affect it not sure if it is really hot or cold where you are at.

    It would have been helpful to point out that the batteries in the box are usually bad. Using new batteries got me past the red light failure.

    I just installed mine and it keeps giving me a jammed error even when the door isn't even closed. I've tried rehandling it as well and that is not the issue. I'm just going to take it back at this point. I've bought several cheaper electric locks and they all have had problems. I expected to get a better product this time by paying more but that was too optimistic.

    It might be your door’s strike plate. Make sure that it aligns perfectly with enough space when closing. I had same issue, strike plate that I had on mines wasn’t wide enough and I couldn’t install the one that came with it because of metal bearer block on hinge, so I went to Home Depot and bought a new striker piece and now it works like charm, no issues.

    I had to make hole deeper so deadbolt would open completely then no jam issue.

    Hi mine makes two clicking noises after the lock bolt is extended. Is that normal? So the bolt must be fully extended looks like. Can we also change how far the bolt extends? Thank you!

    Yes to both questions. Yes there is a way to extend or shirk bolt. It is hard to explain but you would need to push down on two buttons to make it bigger or smaller.

    I would love to know which two buttons and how to use them. Mine will not retract fully no matter what I try or how many times I reset or rehand it. Ready to toss it! Your video was very helpful to this point though

    Mine used to close on its own when I closed the door but after I changed the batteries it no longer automatically locks when I close the door . How do I fix that ? Thanks

    I tried installing this. When I follow the process above, the unit makes the beeping sound however the bolt does not go in or out. Then when trying to lock/unlock door via the app or by entering the code, it gives a “jammed” error

    Hey Raveen, Are you locking and unlocking with the door open or closed? If closed it could be a door issue. For instance, sometimes you have to push or pull for the lock to align correctly. If it is showing jammed and the door is open this could be a bigger issue and you may want to do a reset/resync.

    I’m having an issue with the lock jamming. It’s worked fine until now. The jam is not relative to the strike plate, as it jams when the door is open freely. Any ideas on how to fix it?

    The other thing I might do is play with the door if needed but that part can be tough when door is not playing nice.

    It's an install issue on the deadbolt when you install you can extend the deadbolt and that is what you need to do

    Do you hear clicking sound and there should be a way to extend the deadbolt during install as well. I apologize I don't have a video on that

    I see, I don't have a video for that but sometimes the alignment is incorrect. The other thing I would check for is making the hole deeper. Hopefully that helps and thanks for the comment.

    I have seen it where to do it jammed sometimes the weather can effect the door and cause it to jam I might check to see if it is smoothly going into lock. Thanks for comment

    I NEED URGENT HELP PLEASE!! When opening our Kiwkset Halo, the KEY wouldn't open, the key turns all the way around (loose), it won't open or lock. the Key pad is still working though, Thank God but the KEY part of the lock must work again. What do I need to do???

    Yes so that clicking is fine you just if you have a lot of clicking that is when it should be rehanded

    Not working for me tried to do a factory reset couldn't and now try to rehand it couldn't either nothing happens just going back to my regular old key locks and avoid all this hasstle

    It could be a bad lock I know this is an older brand. I am sorry I can't be more help but normally these steps work. If it is not rehanding or resetting that typically means it needs to be replaced.

    Doesn’t work for me, even after 20+ seconds and new batteries. The front side of the door displays purple, red, green, blue, and in between colors continuously. Does it matter if the app is open? Bluetooth enabled? Edit: Had to press it twice

    No App does not need to be open or bluetooth. The other things I might try is a Factory Reset on the lock kzread.info/dash/bejne/iWt9j9elks2Xdpc.html

    I would check the batteries first and then I might take a look at install to make sure the cords are connecting correctly.

    It won’t turn on its own either. I am not sure why it is a brand new lock. My husband checked the lock to ensure it doesn’t get stuck and if you manually turn it, it is smooth.

    I might try losing screws, I've seen it where it is to tight causing it to jam. I am sorry if that does not help.

    This lock is garbage. Noisy and slow. Secondly, it begins to stick and you feel it in the tumbler. Just an ongoing mess having to always rehand and other tweeks.

    I’m sorry to hear that and I’ve had my fair share of issues as well. That’s big reason for the videos trying to help

    This describes my problem. The lock, after 1 mo installed and working well, has begun to bind. I get error beeps when it attempts to lock itself, I can feel and have to push through the binding / resistance when using the knob inside or key outside. Rehanding failed....no green light at conclusion.
