Thank you for making this video! We moved into a new place and the previous owners had left this kwickset without any instructions! Took me like 2 hours to find this!

It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).

You're a lifesaver! All the other videos I found were for a different version of Kwikset. And the instructions included in the inside of the lock made it really confusing, giving the impression that the Reset key was Enter.

Make sure when your programming it to wait for the kwikset button to light up after the user code. Example: 0000 kwikset (wait for button to beep and light up) push 4 (wait for button to light up again) then enter new code

I add the new code but when trying to test the newly accepted code it blinks red 3 times

I'm showing that all the codes are accepted but the kwikset button does not lock the door and the code does not unlock it when it's entered. What am I missing

How deep is the external portion of this deadbolt? I have a very tight clearance with a screen door handle, and this one LOOKS pretty slim, but I can't find dimensions anywhere! Thanks

Thank you for this great video. You helped me set up my lock and I’m so grateful. In the last week I’ve noticed when I leave, my Kwikset button has started flashing red like 8 times and now my code doesn’t work anymore. I spent 2 hours this morning with your video on repeat resetting everything. It accepts everything-pic code and new user code. But when I try it actually use it, it won’t work and the Kwikset button flashes red over and over. Can you please help?!?!?!

Thanks for the Video! But for some reason I had to hit the enter button twice at the end of putting in my user code. Not in the instructions and perhaps it was a flaw in mine but how infuriating eh.

I changed the PC and used a new UC. But when I used the new UC, the door locked but it would not unlock. I reset and tried several times after setting the PC and UC, I have the same result. WIll appreciate any help to solve this problem. Thanks.

If it's not auto-moving the deadbolt, does that mean I put it together wrong?

I've had this lock for over a year with no issues. Today I go to change the batteries (brand new) and it will not take a new user code.. I've reset it over and over again, changed the program code to put in a new user code, then reset it again and used the default pc to program a new user code. It finally programmed a 6 digit user code, but it didn't unlock. Throwing this away and getting a new one.

We ordered this Kwikset on Amazon and installed it this week. Once we got the Energizer batteries in properly, we couldn't get past the first step. We finally Reset, heard the 3 beeps, entered 0000 and Kwikset, then 0 Kwikset - It began flashing red and beeping after the first 4 zero entry and that was it. It will not work after many attempts and 3 videos. Just keeps flashing red and beeping. We took the batteries out and started again. Do you have any final suggestions before we give up? Having the same issues did you ever figure it out?

I moved mine to a new door and it will not automatically lock. Even if I press the Kwikset button. No response... Just purchased new batteries, and still no response... Any advise? I attempted to clear the old codes with 0000 kwikset, 3 kwikset, and add a new code kwikset -but it did not work... How do I clear the old codes and set a new code since my lock had two different passwords?

My door is not locking or unlocking when I press quickset and it’s not unlocking either when I put in the code. What is going on?

There are also a few things you should not do because it makes the lock unfuctional and only using the reset corrects it.

So if you are still on here...you have to always have the automatic lock on to lock the door? Since there is no lock button on the outside there is no way to lock the door unless always having that feature on? If I am going in and out of the house during the summer or even company is coming and going outdoors..it will always automatically lock. Looking at an easier way to just lock the door when I leave.

no you don't have to have the auto lock on to lock the door. Just push the kwikset button and it will lock the door.

I can do all this but i still need a key to unlock the door even when after user code used. I cannot unlock the door with just a user code. Kinda pointless of using code if key is needed to open or unlock

What's up. I just bought this and I love it. You CANNOT and I mean CANNOT skip the syncing setup. I burned up 10 minutes couldn't program it. It will NOT let you program it till you sync up. You have to follow the manual. Hope this helps.

Some of these people in the comments must be slow haha. I just installed this lock the other day. Took me less than 5 minutes to program. I didn't even use the manual at all, only the chart on the inside of the battery cover. I really don't understand why people don't get it. Great lock!

You don't use a code to lock .only the kwikset button.

Cannot see what your doing

When i enter the PC, to try and add a UC, it turns red after I hit the “1” and I can’t do anything ... so annoying.

make sure you follow these steps; when entering a user code you must first enter PC code, then enter #1 and then enter your code kzread.info/dash/bejne/h4R-yLeieKWWhbg.html

Welding and stuff yup I did that and it works. It just only works when the door is open and locked. When the door is closed and locked, it makes the noise as though it’ll open but turns red and doesn’t - so frustrated.

Melissa Addonisio that’s strange. It can be two things; weak batteries or the lock is in a bind. Try putting new batteries, one time I bought new batteries and they were no good.

Not working on my lock. Everytime When I enter my PC and press 'kwikset' button , the button turns red and yell 'beebeebee'😂. Never shows what you have done in the video

You forgot the most important step to explain, that is how to use the basic code that it comes with. Once I changed the code, how do you use it? You don't explain that. You skip right over the basics and jump right to other stuff without giving us the very basics. Teach in small peogressions.
