kweichowensis worm massacre
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Some people have problems with their amphibians rejecting compost worms due to the taste, but it's never been an issue for me. Also, the kweichows quite like the little rock pool/stream thing I made for them by pumping water to the top of one of the big rocks in their tank, and they often sit in the flowing water.

They live in both. They spend about 80% of their time up on the rocks, but they've been spending quite a bit of time in the little rock pool thing since I made it for them. They're a non-fossorial species, so they don't burrow or live underground in burrows made by other animals; they just kind of either hang about in the open or go for a swim.
yah i noticed that in my conpost worms too. they secret this mucus but my salamanders have no problems gulping it up as well as the worm :P
Okay, thanks
Nice area, so T. Kweichowensis live in water, land, or both? How big is your T. kweichowensis?
Hello do you still keep all the animals? I very much enjoy your video's do you still make them?
cool newt
Compost worms produce defensive secretions when they're attacked; some produce a nasty-tasting and smelly yellow substance and others produce sticky mucus. Earthworms (the sort that you commonly find living in soil) don't produce defensive secretions and are more palatable to predators, but are more difficult to culture. Maybe it's just a matter of not spoiling your animals with earthworms, the same way that animals can be spoiled by waxworms so that they stop accepting less appealing prey.
Hi Peter do you still keep these Yangi and would you like to swap a male for a female ?
dont worry i got an account!
I've got pictures of the tank here (though I'm not sure if you'll be able to see them without registering on the site): caudata (dot) org/forum/members/peter5930-albums-kweichowensis-tank.html
