My favorite story about this series is how the government of China got really mad that the US made a movie about Chinese culture that was so significantly better than anything they had ever made.

@@TGLReacts OP kinda left out some context, the chinese gov was jealous that dreamworks was able to make something so good regarding their culture that is significantly better than anything in their animation department at the time, and also were frustrated that they weren't the first one to come up with the concept of this movie even when it's inspiration was literally staring them in the face with their national animal being the panda and all that lol.

One of the best movies ever made, not joking this movie is a classic.

"Sifu" means "teacher" or "master". Similar to the Japanese "sensei". Speaking of Shifu, he was a red panda, and Tai Lung was a snow leopard. As far as Kung Fu Panda 2 goes, it's even better than this one. One of my favorite animated movies of all time.

Read this somewhere before... If Master Shifu was at peace, he would simply let Master Oogway blow the candles on his own (at his own pace), thereby not sending the messenger duck to the prison.

There are actually a lot of notable actors who voice the characters: Po - Jack Black Mantis - Seth Rogan Viper - Lucy Liu (Charlie's Angels) Monkey - Jackie Chan Tigress - Angelina Jolie Shifu - Dustin Hoffman (major star from old movies) Crane - David Cross (Alvin and the chipmunks, Pitch Perfect) Tai Lung - Ian McShane (John Wick)

Kung Fu Panda might just be the most perfect movie trilogy ever.

The third movie ruined the perfectness for me. I love Kung Fu Panda but HTTYD is perfect with its beginning, middle, and end.

My favorite thing about the entire series is the various constant themes and my favorite of them all is the Oogway quote early on in this first one. "One often meets his destiny on the path he takes to avoid it." It's so ever-present and I love it. There are many examples that prove its truth in the series but even just the first one, the fact that Shifu trying to stop him from escaping was the primary catalyst to his escape. Heck, even the various attempts of the Rhinos only served to help him escape. It's so good and that's only one small aspect of the movie.

Fun fact Tai Lung means Great Dragon just shows how much shifu wanted Tai Ling to be the dragon warrior

Yeah the cleanup after the wuxi finger hold must be hard, i mean he turned him to dust! freaking dust!

No cap, this may be my favorite movie of all time. Everything is excellent: cinematography, action, comedy, drama, story, acting, sound and music. It looks great, it sounds great, it moves great (... 99% of time, a few CG moments haven't aged that well). It made me laugh, it made me gasp, it made me cry. Just about perfect. Also, idk if someone else asked you this, Prez, but I'm curious: in what language did you see this movie previously?

It might be obvious by now but the reason Oogway didnt pick Tai Lung to become the dragon warrior is because as shown later in the movie, he didnt accept the idea that the scroll was empty, that there was no secret ingredient so he lashed out against Po who was the only one around at the time

@37:19 When I watched the film as a child, I thought he meant it in a literal way (him not being hungry). But now, while watching your reaction video, I realized that there might be more to it. As both Ogway and Po himself said before, Po eats when he's upset. But now, he just finished a training session and did so with success. Plus his master believes in him, is willing to train him and found a suitable way to do so. Because of those reasons, Po isn't upset anymore and because of that, he isn't hungry at the moment. I don't know why it took me so long to realize that but I'm glad I finally did! 😀

Shifu/sifu basically translates as Teacher/Tutor/skillful person/Master. So he 'could' be called Master Master, Master Teacher.

Great cast, sadly they didn't get much dialogue in the first movie *Sad Jackie Chan noises*

Haha, Tai Lung is a snow leopard. They’re gorgeous animals - but way smaller than tigers, no way even a male snow leopard is this much stronger than a female tiger. XD But obviously it’s fiction and the praying mantis can hold up a bridge so it’s fine. And it’s funny you bring up Tigger and how silly it would be to not recognize that he’s a Tiger, because I remember when I was super young I saw an episode of Winnie the Pooh where Tigger learned his closest relative was the lions, the kings of the jungle, so he declares himself king of the Hundred Acre Woods, and I swear the only reason I remember it so well is because of how much it pissed me off as a kid that they didn’t even *mention* tigers or how that’s obviously what Tigger is, not a lion. XD I was a very pedantic animal-obsessed child. Well, here I am correcting animal species on KZread over twenty years later, so I guess not much has changed. XD Also on that note, don’t judge me for saying so, but the Tigger Movie could actually be a cool one for a reaction. It’s better than you’d think for a movie for such a young demographic, and surprisingly emotional. Loved this reaction though, and I’m super looking forward to your reaction to the second film, it’s truly a masterpiece of a film. :D

I know you need to obscure part of the footage (for copyright reasons), but the combination of the ⚫ film over the footage, and having the footage made transparent, so you can see what's behind you makes it practically impossible to watch it with you guys. I'm stuck, mostly listening. Sometimes your shoulder movements actually look like they're part of the film, due to the transparency. Could you make the footage a smidge less transparent? Or decrease the amount of ⚫ film used? I've seen some KZreadrs who project the footage on the back of a laptop. And 1 KZreadr who has about 60% film and 40% normal footage.

what i love about oowgway’s death is that it seems out of no where, but actually the escape of tai lung was a sign that he needed to move on, he could’ve stayed longer if he wanted to, but he had to let shifu and po face this on their own so that they could reach their destinies

I love Kung Fu Panda. The second one is my favourite of the trilogy. Acupuncture is amazing. Highly recommend. I had lost 80% usage of my left arm, but now it's almost back to normal thanks to my acupuncturist. Western doctors had either given up or told me that I needed multiple surgeries, and even they didn't really know what was wrong.
