The thing that’s interesting is that “the warrior of black and white” could refer to Shen himself. By continuing his destructive path, he lead himself to his demise. It was his own actions and weapon that lead to his downfall.

Its another example of my favorite constant thing about the movies. That Oogway quote from the first: "One often meets his destiny on the path he takes to avoid it." In trying to prevent it, from killing the pandas, to killing Po, to attacking him and cutting the ropes at the very end while Po wasn't fighting back, all of his attempts to avoid it and make his own destiny sealed it.

"The warrior of black and white" refers to both Po and Shen. For those unaware that in the Chinese tradition "Po-Shen" is pretty much an analog of "Yin-Yang", with "Po" meaning "Black Soul" and "Shen" meaning "White Soul", it is even shown literally in the movie. The entire point of the movie is exactly this: two halves of one thing separated and fighting each other. The tragedy is that they never get along and it ends with the "White Soul" lost forever.

@@blakeslone9820 The entire 'fate' thing in the movie is a bluff, arranged by the Goat. She is behind all that. And in case you missed it, the movie is made in three different styles: some kind of paper theater, handdrawn animation and 3d. It's a trick Dreamwork guys use in some of their movies, different kinds of 'reality'. The paper theater shows what is told by the Goat, the handrawn animation is what Po sees in his dreams, and 3D is what actually happens. Look at the movie again while keeping it in mind, and you'll see. Things there are far from might seem at the first glance.

In Secrets of The Five, we learn that Tigress was abandoned in an orphanage with animals like bunnies, geese, pigsn etc. Her temper and her ferocious nature made everyone believe her to be a monster. Even herself. Shifu adopted her, at a very young age, and taught her to control her anger and actions. So chances are good she's somewhere in her 20s or 30s. And of course, she empathizes a LOT more with Po.

Shen’s final conversation with the soothsayer was my favorite part. He clearly feels some fraction of remorse, but after a genocide and a war, feels he had gone too far and was past the point of no return, so felt the need to see out his plan till the end

This is one of my favorite animated films of all time. Everything comes together: the comedy, the action, the emotion, the visuals, the themes, the vocal performances, the MUSIC...it's almost perfect. The third one is my least favorite of the three, but I wouldn't consider it bad, just closer to mediocre than the first two.

I would say Shen is the smartest villain in Kung Fu Panda, then Kai, then Tai Lung

I think people underrate Tai Lung in intelligence while overrating Kai. Tai Lung's prison escape shows just how resourceful he can be. Whereas Kai actually fell for the "Hey what's that" trick from Po. lol At best seems they're tied or Tai Lung is a tad brighter.

It was confirmed there's a special called The Secrets of The Furious Five about their backstory

Shen really couldn't find inner peace. There was an anxiety, insecurity and fear in him he could never get rid of, that always drove his actions. He was a white peacock, always different from others. And that's just it, some subconcious emotions seem impossible to get rid of - especially not without help. Realistically, instead of a seer, Shen should have... had a good therapist.. ^^; A very intense antagonist, really one of the best. Personality-wise Shen's even deeper than that cool Wolf "Death", from the latest Puss in Boots.

I would definitely like to see you guys react to Kung Fu Panda 3. It was such a nice end to the trilogy and I know you guys are gonna love it

My biggest problem with Kung Fu Panda trilogy is this really forced "Pandas survived!" card they pulled at the end of this movie.... It ruins both the *A* plot with Shen's impact on the world, and the *B* plot of Po accepting Ping as his father and realizing that he can move on.... To me, this is as if.. (SPOILERS FOR AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER) - Surprise! - Monk Gyatso! You're alive! - Yup! We survived, and have been meditating in our secret temple for a hundred years to now tell you we're all completely fine!

From a purely personal standpoint, I like the 1st movie better, but I definitely agree that the 2nd one is more polished (and it's still *great* ). Nope, radishes decision would not change a shit. Pandas literally went to hiding, nobody seen them for ages. Otherwise Shen wouldn't be so surprised. And 3rd film confirms it.

you guys need to leval out the sound just a little as in you guy's are to loud or the movie is to soft.

I think the first two movies were amazing and the third had a lot of potential... but in my opinion the third fell flat to me. Not my cup of tea.
