Best villain is this one

This movie does so many things right. The characters, their development, the fight choreography, the lessons, how well it depicts ancient China, it's all so great. One part I really like, and often see overlooked, is how after Po lays out his insecurities to Shifu, we see that Tigress heard the whole thing and finally started to soften up and feel sorry for him, and realized he was actually taking Kung Fu seriously, not "treating it like a joke" as she previously stated.

Not sure if you guys watched until after the credits, but there's a little bit of Shifu and Po eating together by the sacred peach tree and there's a sprout behind them from the peach stone planted by Shifu and Oogway

I've watched this movie so many times along the years but I only catched this in my most recent watch. That little scene it's the cherry on top.

"Imagine the guy (Oogway) just hears it and dies on the spot!" Had me dying of laughter...Because this is literally what he does 🤣

Wow, he called the "can't find the right pressure points" for Tai Lung Almost nothing is wasted in this movie

And this was the start of the modern "Dreamworks villains don't miss" trend that still continues to this day.

Tai Lung escaping prison through 1000 guards felt like playing a level in The Force Unleashed and only having to deal with 1000 stormtroopers.

What I found hilarious is that when this movie first came out, rumors began spreading that the country of China were flabbergasted how a “western” film represented the Chinese culture almost perfectly X)

They actually revamped their entire film industry as a result.

The best dynamic here (there are so many) is with the scroll...It shows you. And hear how the characters react to it, Po says "it's blank" because he hasn't proven himself yet. Even with all the training he doesn't entirely believe in himself. Tai Lung says "It's nothing"...He looks at himself and he sees nothing. He wasted his life. There's no meaning because he was always chasing the dream Shifu gave him.

For some reason, I hated this movie as a kid. When I rewatched it as an adult, I was so disappointed in my younger self. This is legitimately one of my favorite movies now.

kung fu panda is just one of those series you can watch over and over, and still have fun. i hope you get to see the other ones!

I love all the teachings in this especially Oogway's analogy on the illusion of control.

Shout out to this guy. Most reactors never see it from the perspective of the furious 5. Imagine working hard all your life for this. Devoting your whole life to the cause only to be on the sidelines and lose to someone with zero experience. The most important thing is they came around in the end. It's very awful to say they're shit for feeling the way they did. THEY HAD EVERY RIGHT TO.

The difference between American and Chinese movies is that Americans believe in the “chosen one” concept. While in Chinese movies, if you work for it, you’ll be rewarded. You don't miraculously achieve. Which is very realistic.

I love Po playing keep away with the dumpling and then doing it again with Tai Lung and the scroll

This movie will always be in my top ten movies of all time forever purely because as a kid, Po was the fictional characters I related to the most more than anyone at the time

25:50 makes me think they don;t have alot of experience with western animation. even the best anime Anime hardly ever does these small, shifting facial expression to convey so much emotion, while Western animated movies do this alot.

When shifu grabbed the dumpling, if you look at it slowly we see him smiling while looking at the camera!

Fun Fact, the peach tree seed that shifu plants during Oogways death scene is used in the Kung Fu Panda tv show. It saves Po's life!

@@Sgublaka94 fat people have higher health risks, less physical capabilities overall, and are more prone to issues in general That's just biology, ie nature It's not meant to be insulting, it's just how it is That said, Po is also a panda, and they tend to be chubby because of their biology, so it's less that he's fat, more that he's just a panda

What I do agree with you is that an excess of weight does mean a higher probability for many health problems. I just think no body is bad and one may try to control their health but not get thin. That shouldn’t make anybody feel their body is bad.

@@Sgublaka94 fat people have shorter lifespans, can expierience severe health problems due to their fat like heart issues, and have generally lower physical limits than even just a regular person, like stamina, strength, and speed Getting fat for the sake of heat is a natural thing, true, but show me a human being who gets fat just for heat conservation in the winter, we have fireplaces, jackets, blankets, and have several other, less reasonable reasons to get fat, like self esteem, stress, and other things that animals don't deal with, ie, not natural If you're comfortable with yourself, ok, but if your perception of yourself is causing you health issues, you need to get help, there shouldn't be shame attached to that, it's like getting a bandaid for a cut to prevent a scar

Yes, he could but in The first half of The fight He just wanted the roll, he wasn't looking to beat Poh because he wasn't a threat And then Tai Long lost all his focus when he received the news of the scroll, attacked his "father", destroyed his village and rotted in jail for many years. just for an allegory You are not going to tell me that you are going to continue performing the same after something like that

Oogway's farewell is a strange experience. On one hand, we are sad to see hm go, sad fo the loss of wisdom and guidance. but at the same time, we not only understand his reasonng (he is old) But also his desire to have peace, and we accept this, and share nin him achieveing the final peace. Like a sacred thing, meant for the eyes of a few. It is a beautiful scene that displays both masters point of view, and how they are both correct. But also that the elder wisdom usually emerges as the true wisdom

This franchise is the reason I WANT TO LEARN KUNG FU lol
