The 'K' album cover artwork blew my mind. It was a complete rip-off of an Objects Of Desire poster I designed in 1992.

@@Mandrake108that would be amazing, would still love to hear all the unreleased early music as well, someone commented on my channel recently 3 objects song titles I hadn’t heard before - Friends in High Places, Step into the Fire, and Another World, are they real song titles and do you still have them?

@@Magician108Hi mate, how's you? Yes, those are Objects songs I wrote with Crispian. They were great live but when we recorded them they sounded absolutely awful. There were many reasons for that which I'll tell you about another time. You've definitely got the best of the recordings apart from two early tracks, The Passage and All I Ever Wanted, the first that me and Crisp wrote together when he joined the band in 1988. We recorded them in Kingston on Thames in January 1989. There was a third track we did at the time called Deep In The Heart, a rock ballad about Neil Kinnock! The Passage is the best of the three. Cult / goth influenced, It was the direction I wanted the band to take. War Whore! was probably our best live track. I've got it somewhere on video but sadly we never got round to recording it in a studio. When eventually I hook up with guitarist Tim Scott-Robinson, I'll give him everything I've got including an alternative version of Pearl Handled Revolver, and let him get on with making digital copies. I'll see if I can find that Kula Shaker/Kays demo that Giles Martin produced in 1994 and let you know how it goes. Cheers 👋

I was more into Suede and Sleeper and Elastica but these blokes come across as ace so will definitely give this album a listen.

Really great band. A best friend of mine opened for Kulashaker in Coventry with his band, and we were backstage honored to meet the band when i asked crispin about his opinion on the magic key in music after he told me he went to india with george harrison, id been using a Raagini because of sonic , Pete Kember spacemen3 suggested i use one in my set, a digital sample of an Indian instrument the Tampura that provides the drone in some of kulashaker songs too, and i was doing some solo drum projects with different musicians , had been playing live and recording with guys from Spacemen 3 / Spiritualized was blown away with kulashaker when they released their first records it was that time in my life prior to being offered to record with Sting then going to live in Brazil, i kept in touch with Paul on drums 🥁 and have invited one of them here to sample Ayahuasca, wont say who as i havent checked with them its ok to say 😊 At abbey road eith pete bassman i was drumming in his band we were at abbey road too when i went for a coffee there was a guy from the dandy warhols saying spacemen 3 were their influence and one of favourite english psychedelic shoegaze , funny story at glasto 99 the headlining act on the sunday at the main stage said to me there that night before going on that he was there because of me 😊 pretty sure i bumped into noel that year and jo wiley told me she didnt like spacemen3 ! Lol spun me out and i remember that year of 99 being well weird for me, met a brazilian, had 4 kids, and left the UK to live on a farm in South America as you do 😂
