Ah, for the days of Spencer Allen and KTVI still with ABC. Station started as WTVI, across the river in Belleville, IL, in 1954, crossing the river and swapping a W for a K a year or so later, along with a channel change, 36 to 2.
Al Ruechel later went to WTSP-TV Channel 10, another ABC station in Tampa, which is the market where he still is today. In 1997, he left to Bright House-owned (soon to be Charter) Bay News 9. He is still there today and is one of the only people to be with Bay News 9 since it's inception in 1997.

Being born in 95 I've got some nostalgia for the early 2000s intros. The panning and "edgy" music just seems like a part of that era.

Anthony Kiekow returned to STL in January 2016 when he joined KMOV, after a year in Dallas.
The Eyewitness News theme really didn't work with the Fox 2 News branding. I guess they kept it even though they left ABC for Fox.
1:26-2:07 intro were like that in the late 80s and/or earlier in the 90s if I remember right. Either this was great to see these
margie ellisor, tom o'neil, and dave murray are still at ktvi and btw i always watch fox 2 for my local weather dave murray usually gets it right or channel 11 ( kplr ) because they usually do simulcasts

Now owned by Rupert Murdoch.

I believe both were owned by the L.A. Times in that period.
