Where are you. I bought them in UK they arrived in a couple of days. I like them in as much as I like any crash bars - I usually avoid them. They match the bike without adding much weight. 👍

Hi Jon. They'll protect the radiator. But I recently took mine off for summer road riding. I was looking at them the other day and one appears to have cracked. The bike only tumbled over twice and landed on handle bars. I'm planning a 2 year video soon so I'll report back then. Maybe I was unlucky, or it's an optical illusion.

@@CodgerBiker yes I’ve bought them for doing the TET I’m going on the 18th, northern Spain for a weeks riding. I thought it would be a good idea to have some protection for the radiators incase of an off. Shame yours have damaged so easily, I would of expected better. I’ll see how they go. Wether they’ll be a permanent fixture I’ll have wait and see, possibly as I always do some off road riding when I’m using the bike. Thanks for letting me know. Look forward to seeing your video. Did you ever experience any front wheel wobble under heavy acceleration, and if so did your Scott’s stabiliser fix this ? Cheers, Jon

  • @CodgerBiker

Hi Jon. Never had any wobble. Could be tyre related. Have you rim locks? You could try balancing the front wheel maybe. I changed to tubeless wheels of course (bloody expensive!). But I had no issues before that. I fitted the damper only because the Rade Fairing came with the mount and thought why not. If you have any questions/ideas to note on my 2 year review please email them and I'll do my best to answer. Not had much time lately. 👍

Putting these on my 2021 690. They could save a radiator and in the remote places in the world I go on my own that could be critical. Also they make very useful handle on both sides for lifting the bike off the ground. Especially if you have the rear handles (which I do) and/or a pannier rack. Also you can attach 6 litre Kreiga pockets to them which are very handy and add to fall protection. If I think of any more excuses to fit the only great looking crash bars made out there I will let you know !

  • @CodgerBiker

They've been on most of a year now. I put them on only for radiator protection. Handy also for holding the bike up when checking oil. But still not convinced. Likely to twist the frame in a high speed slide, well maybe.👍

I ordered the R and G frame sliders for my 690 - had to rotate them about 45 degrees from horizontal to get them to fit on the right side due to the canister - other than that, they look great and weigh almost nothing Keep the videos coming! Cheers from Louisiana USA

I thought about crash bars as always had them on big shiny adventure bikes. Decided against to keep the weight down and there isn’t really anything to damage in a spill..just plastic panels and they scratch up anyway...got to say though that those do look good without being too much overkill👍

Have to agree entirely. I do not know if these will stay. But at 2kg worth a try. Mainly I drop the bike sideways at very low speeds, so they might save the radiator. Also I have been wondering about small LED lights that could, maybe, attach onto them. Depends how far I go along the ‘Adv’ conversion road, before I decide it is getting too heavy. As always it’s a balancing act... they may stay, but then again! 😂👍

Thats what I was thinking until I dropped my bike and it hit a rock I guess and shifted the entire radiator to one side. Had to remove entire radiator and bend all the mounting brackets back to straight. Now I’m afraid to drop it, not sure how many times I can bend it back before failure

@@bk6271I guess nothing is fool proof. What year is the bike. They supposedly improved the radiator protection on my bike. But if I had your experience/environment I’d be fitting bars like these. Only thing to consider is mine broke after a very minor drop, but the bike was undamaged.
