You seem to be missing all the inexcusable crimes committed in the name of "oUr lOrD". People being stoned to death, burned at stake etc. All the cruelty of the Old Testament. All the contradictions in the New Testament. And the utterly disgusting behaviour of current Christians who, if American and Polish, want to destroy a great number of people for daring to not love the same gender or daring to not feel comfortable in their own body. Christians who, if from anywhere else, at least wilfully overlook the massive pedo presence in the Catholic Church. This Christianity? If this is the "religion of peace and kindness and love", I'd like to see the "religion of war, cruelty and hatred", it would have to be insane to even get equally as shit.

Think of it this way, you can blame sects like the Puritains (aka the closest thing we've got for a Christain ISIS in Christian history at the posting of this comment, though there are modern sects that are getting pretty close) and various nations that did all sorts of things in it's name for Christanity's bad rep.

@@TheTrueAdeptOk dude while the puritans were FAR from perfect, or even good. Comparing them to isis only goes to show you likely know little about either group. The puritans, believe it or not. Were largely peaceful and actually fled to the new world to escape persecution. They didn’t attempt to fight the government or anything like that, they peacefully left. The puritans also had a massive emphasis on education. For all the Salem witch trial jokes they were actually amping the most well educated and egalitarian societies on earth at that time and were actually pretty advanced. Isis on the other hand is the complete opposite. They are a group hell bent on conquering the entirety of the Middle East (and arguably beyond) using persecution and force. They are generally not well educated and have a highly volatile society. For all their faults the puritans were actually pretty darn good by historical standards. The Catholic Church objectively did more harm then the puritans and even then they were a major force for science, medicine, education and cultural stability. There is no comparison here.

Repent of urs sins (Repent means Change ur Mind turning away from sinful things and being truly sorry for it.) trust Jesus and give ur life to him He Loves you cares about you more than anyone ever will! we are saved By Grace Trough Faith!,this is sin: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23 For all have sined and felt short of the Glory of God. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. I would imagine a scenario of Kratos crossing paths with Jesus: Kratos comes across a simple hut, and Jesus doing some simple carpentry. Jesus jokingly says that He doesnt get much visitors and just happily invites him over lunch, Kratos was hesitant but Jesus insisted. Eventually, they have a good conversation more similar to the act of confession in actual church setting. By post-endgame, you return to the hut, it was occupied by an elderly shepherd with a family. Kratos asked where the former occupant was. The shepherd replied that the man simply left just like that when he and his family were just asking him if they could stay for the night, by next morning he was just gone and all that remained was a letter stating that everything including the hut is theirs. Showing the letter to Kratos, with the old man replying "Peculiar fellow, that one. But he's a kind host nonetheless, quite a sight to see men like that nowadays"

This is possibly the least offensive or questionable idea I've seen in this thread. A respectful but not preachy application, and doesn't need to be a larger plot, battle, or game mechanic, just a nice encounter and the man is on his way. After all, he'd have other things to do in this world rolling with overly self-indulgent and egotistical pantheons.

@@marstothestars33 I think you've completely misinterpreted what I'm trying to say with this. I never said that tying faith to something is offensive, but it can be done poorly. Modern faith is a very delicate subject in entertainment fiction for a number of reasons. Firstly, you run the risk of angering upwards of millions of people if your usage of their faith is implemented poorly such as offensive or demeaning interpretations of the faith in question. Second, coming from a position of faithfulness can also risk alienating a large audience if they do not share the same belief (non-religious people or those of a different religion alltogether) especially if it comes off as "preachy" or overly favoring one religion over others, especially if you have multiple modern religions involved. For God of War, adding in Christian elements like Jesus or other Biblical characters would be a risk to introduce so late in the franchise and could turn LOTS of people off if done poorly. I was complimenting the original idea as a good middle ground that I (a non-religious person) would accept in a series I enjoy that has not utilized modern religion and particularly Christianity as it doesn't feel like I'm being preached to, nor does it make Jesus some overpowered superbeing or anything. It leaves his full potential open to interpretation in this universe and allows for discussion around the character. It's not lampooning Christianity or non-Christians and it would be very thematically consistent with the latest installment of God of War and especially the Valhalla DLC's ending which I won't spoil here. Obviously, I don't speak for everyone but compared to some of the other takes in comment section that lean strongly one way or another, I like this one the most.

Kratos' story is one of forgiveness. Freya's forgiveness of him. Atreus' forgiveness of him. The people of the nine realms not forgiving Odin. His inability to forgive himself. If the final step of his story was not forgiveness of himself in some manner, similar to that of Christianity, it wouldn't feel right. Edit: since the ashes on his skin represent his guilt, that image of Jesus taking on his ashes is both thematically fitting for the games and for Christianity. That artist deserves some applause

Fun Fact : in The Original Ending for GOW 3, The Devs were actually planning a universe crossover type event where different versions of Kratos from different god pantheons of different cultures team up to take down their respective gods. After this was all over, monotheism was born with the three versions of Kratos actually turning out to be the three wise men that visited Mary and Joseph that fateful night. I don't know how they could've or would've pulled that off at the time. But it low-key sounds pretty badass.

My idea: Kratos unknowingly travels to the biblical era to face the Egyptian pantheon as well as the resurrection of the old Greek gods that are living by Roman names. He fights his way through them and uncovers their plot to overthrow a new, more powerful god that they all fear and resent. Kratos, decides to help this new god, or rescue him to stop a deadly prophecy from happening. To his surprise, he learns that not only does this god predate all the others, but that He is the most powerful being of all, and that every other pantheons were once His servants who rebelled against Him. Kratos feels grief stricken when the chief evil deity convinces a mortal king to kill the young god, and Kratos feels like he failed, until three days later when the young God rises again. It is later revealed that for once Kratos is neither the destroyer nor the savior, but the one who needed rescuing. The new god, this Jesus, Son of God, embraces Kratos and forgives him of his sins. And Kratos ashes disappear from his skin and he truly knows peace. For gameplay purposes, Kratos now wages war against demons or demon possessed individuals and he travels the world spreading the good news about the One who forgave even a monster such as himself.

Could be cool, though very clearly coming from a christian i assume? I could see Kratos going to the Latin pantheon to do something he doesn't want to, one last time, but the whole christian god being more powerful ,ancient ,all-knowing and full of love would by definition not work on a series that has become all about grey areas and unstable moral compass that must yet still be steered in the right direction, perfectly described by Kratos still saying "we must be better than this" after all that happened. Introducing a pure white and perfect character would in my opinion ruin everything, but making the christian god grey would *definitely* not work for sales.

It is this group that god the father and a lot of Christianitys morals come from And it is both them the Muslims and the jews that are in this category Long with a handful of others. The main difference between Judaism and Christianity is put simply according to Christianity Jesus was the messiah, the son of god and the one Sent to save people from all sins Well the others don't believe Jesus is the one and to this day are still waiting for him. As for how old it is according to tax and other such although it is is named after Abraham He himself was just continuing on a religion that was going on for generations upon generations by that time. it is honestly The worship of the great spirit is one of the oldest religions right next to things like Gaia worship(We're shipping of the earth and everything of it above humanity).

Honestly, if they played their cards right and just make a single game with Christianity as the religion, could be cool. As long as they don’t decide God is evil and we see Kratos storming heaven since then that would piss off some people. If they had it where Kratos sees a benevolent god that cares for his people and have him meet Jesus. That could be a cool meeting. Just have Kratos fight demons, fallen angels, Nephilim, Levithan, Lucifer, or other famous demons or creatures from the Bible. You could have a very interesting story and hell, if you have Jesus forgive Kratos of his sins from Greece, it could even potentially make Christians happy about it.

I'd like to envision the encounter between Kratos & Jesus would go like this: Every now and again Kratos would encounter this random guy on his travels, the first time he meets him he's a shepherd and helps him find a missing lamb. The second time he invites kratos to dine with his friends, but Kratos refuses because he's currently in the middle of a quest. The final time would be at the end of the game, when he finds the man sitting on what he at first assumes is a log. They talk for a bit and the man gets up to resume his journey. Kratos goes to lift the 'log' but finds he can't, only to be shocked when the man lifts it onto his back revealing it to be a CROSS. Kratos asks how and/or why the man is carrying such a burden. The man merely smiles at Kratos and says: So you no longer have to. The scene ends with the man (Jesus) walking off with the cross on his back and Kratos staring after him... A few seconds later, Kratos moves to follow.

If they were to make a game about this, I would enjoy Kratos going on an existentialist journey experiencing misunderstandings and ignorances when encountering the God of the Bible. Going through many tests of whether or not God is good by encountering physical manifestations of philosophical questions and making him doubt that is true. Only to then have those doubts destroyed by understanding the events that take place in the Bible a lot more clearly. Also understanding the deep complexity behind a seemingly simple God and his own son. This is just a journey I’ve gone through as a Christian and personally I’d find this to be very interesting.

I think people are missing the potential of a GoW game set during the Harrowing of Hell (when Jesus descended into Hell to redeem the souls of righteous Old Testament figures, such as Adam and Eve). Maybe Kratos first sees him as a radiant silhouette which frees him from his shackles, setting him on a Dante's Inferno-meets-DOOM Eternal adventure to reunite with his family in heaven; the various fallen angel lieutenants of Satan could serve as boss fights, and the "Ghost of Yeshua" (Jesus Christ) could be a Virgil-style guide throughout the underworld. That would actually be a really cool concept for a God of War game that doesn't cross the line in my opinion. I'm just imagining blaring argent metal Gregorian hymns while Kratos battles a giant fly monster Beelzebub amid the storms and icy mud of the Circle of Gluttony. You could even introduce a plot twist where the vision of Jesus you've been talking to was actually Lucifer trying to use Kratos as a secret weapon against his father.

The thing is even younger Kratos is not inherently antagonistic with all gods, even the Greek ones. - He was horrified that Athena sacrificed herself on his blade to protect Zeus. - He was actually pretty chill with Hephaestus until Hephaestus tried to kill him. - He was fully prepared to leave Hera to wallow in her drunken stupor until she called Pandora a whore. - He would have let Helios live after defeating him if Helios hadn't tried to trick him into touching the Flame of Olympus which would have killed him. - He tried to dissuade Hercules from fighting him altogether. - And Aphrodite.... well he definitely did not kill her. His only goal was to take down Zeus, everyone else just kept getting in his way which lead to their deaths. If faced with a pacifist like Jesus or a Hindu God like Ganesha then there would be no actual antagonism between them, unless they were somehow preventing him from completing a very important task at which point things could get heated but older Kratos is also much more open to finding alternative ways to a solution. He'll probably end up being a little gruff and surly and not fully trust them but he would not be the one to throw the first punch.

Oh and the wounded guy in gow2 who cratos used to break another wheel mechanism while he was begging for mercy. Oh and the solder in the cage burned in the mechanism in pandoras temple. And the guy in hydras mouth who Kratos literally said “I didn’t come back for you” before taking the key and throwing the old guy down. And some of that was even before the whole business with finding out about his brother and being fucked over. Which, again, unfortunately doesn’t come up much because apparently it wasn’t fully planned beforehand (Kratos is surprised when Athena tells him Zeus is his father, yet, chronologically, this happens AFTER ghost of Sparta so his mother already told him before dying) so in 2 and 3 it SEEMS like his main point for revenge is being angry at Zeus for stabbing him, which he only did to stop him murdering people in that city for no reason other than boredom and spite. You are right about all the gods you mentioned. But I think Kratos is just a dick tbh. At least was a dick to normal mortal people which is ironic. Which is just as well, otherwise the redemption ark in the two latest gows wouldn’t make much sense and have that great of an emotional impact. I guess as much of fans of the gow series we are, we can agree that writing (meaning consistent logic and arks throughout the series, because each game by its own had great touching moments like the garden in chains of Olympus which is brilliant interactive storytelling example with the QTE showing it requires great strength to push his daughter away) was never the strongest part.

Im not sure how big of a game it would be but i would indeed love to see their interactions. Kratos harboring all the regret of his past actions and as soon as kratos realizes that jesus isnt like any of the pantheons he had met he would probably help jesus spread his message. More so i love the idea of jesus saying "you...are forgiven..." and raiseing his hand as the ashes and the blades fade away off his body

Yup, if we are going by the game. There will not be a fight. But if we are going by a 'what if', then there will be a fight so long as the Almighty willed it and allows it. So if the Almighty allows it, well it's part of his plan for something and it cannot be his own destruction (not like Kratos can even match the Almighty), but it must be to get rid of the other false gods trying to take his children away from him. That makes sense 😅

I feel like that if Jesus was in this universe, he’d almost be like Mimir from 2018. If he was brought into this universe as a character who could interact with Kratos, the best path forward would be as a mere helpful character who helps Kratos become stronger in terms of his code/character. ( Note; Kratos is Canon to Greek myth as the god of strength. And his games could be viewed as his martial strength and then later; his strength of character.) If the two did encounter each other, then it could be a form of strength that we haven’t seen yet. I personally believe that if Kratos is to go to Egypt next, after his most recent arc; having him start to murder gods again like with Greece would be a step back for him. The most reasonable after this I think is to have him show strength of will. Have the challenge be to keep to his ideals and to not stoop to his old ways or take an easier path as he gets older. If this happens and the Egypt story is resolved; having him go to, say the Celtic mythology and having him encounter that Pantheon and potentially even a conflict with Christianity could be a great way to intro Christ into this story, and have Kratos then focus on strength of leadership against whatever crisis that exists within that pantheon, with Jesus taking more of an advisory roll to help flesh his and Kratos’s character out more. I don’t know what the future holds, but if Santa Monica hears this kinda stuff and what the community is saying, I think this could be a cool storyline. I think there is a way to ultimately tell stories with this kind of setting and scenario in a way that is respectful, but to find it isn’t always easy. Either way, I look forward to the future, especially if this storyline happens.

They almost did add Jesus In God of War: Directors Live, David Jaffe and Cory Barlog mentioned their ending to God of War III. Interesting to note is that they also brought up the ending of the Three Wise Men. This storyline could have been dropped (or adapted, making the Three Wise Men become the Three Judges in God of War III), In the original draft by David Jaffe, the Three Wise Men were meant to be Kratos and his Norse and Egyptian counterparts, after they wiped out the Olympians, the Gods of Asgard and the Egyptian Pantheon. The final cutscene showed the Three Wise Men heading to the North Star resulting with the birth of Christianity.
