It's weird that this is a meme that's been used for every single joke out there, but I somewhat feel an emotional connection to this one. It's not that deep and this is all in my head but... I love to think of this one as a poetic way to represent how much Kratos grows as a person throughout the modern series of GoWs (in the same way we have all grown up, struggled, and matured in the time since playing the original series). In the original meme he (young Kratos) had all the power in the world but had either pushed away, killed or betrayed everyone close to him, and is throwing himself off a cliff, chasing his own end. The original meme is essentially Kratos attempting suicide, alone after a life of selfishness. In this version (old, matured Kratos) has lost all of his awesome powers and status, and after choosing the life of the common man, he has found wisdom and power in those close to him. His family, whether through blood (Atreus) or otherwise (Mimir, BFF), is now with him all the way, and he no longer is throwing himself off a cliff hoping to die, but bravely stepping off to chase a better future. Idk, just a random reflection from a random dude in the internet, but... Let's all become the people we'd like to look up to ;)
