Kratos is someone who can't stay dead. He beats death, literally, he killed The God of fucking death, The sister's of fate, and Hades himself. Kratos died like 2 times and somehow comes back willy nilly. (Idk about him "dying" at the end of gow 3)

I like how Zeus couldn't just settle for killing Kratos. He instead had to humiliate him in front of his army and destroy his spirit by killing them in front of him. He hated Kratos so much because he feared that he would destroy Olympus, and at the end he caused what he sought to avoid.

And then he received a lot of power ups,no wonder Hades couldnt kill him, so it makes sense to me how Kratos is able to kill Hades who dont have as much fighting experience as Kratos

Smart Trapperino he makes fewer mistakes that could leave him dreadfully vulnerable and pays more attention to his surroundings. He also drops the cockiness, and is only really caught badly off guard by Zeus once he transcends death like Athena did

@Jhon D Zeus imprisoned Cronos(his fater),after Kratos opened Pandora's box fear overwhelmed Zeus that his son (Kratos) would betray him as he did his father,so he killed him but then Kratos came back and did exactly what Zeus was trying to prevent.Seeing the same thing with Baldur and Freya he kills Baldur and stopped the cycle from repeating the same thing Zeus and Kratos did,as Gods can't come back now in Norse mythology because of the coming Ragnarok and all the things Odin is doing to prevent it Baldur can't pull off what Kratos did.So whether or not Thor and Asgard come,which they will,that's not what Kratos was referring to.

Kratos killed Hades wife before the events of God of War 1 and 2, so yes Kratos absolutely would've been able to kill Hades with or without Gaia's help because as Kratos said himself he will die once death truly owns him@@mcgabrielrock.

The biggest lie in my gaming memory was thinking you could actually kill Zeus in this part and crying my soul out to do it.

You literally can't beat him. Even if you cheat to get all of the abilities, infinite resources, infinite combo + Rage of the Titans (3x damage) he won't fail. If you trigger a cheat to instantly kill everything currently loaded, Zeus disappears and the game immediately softlocks.

@Anthony Matthew If they do that, they will be saved from their destruction by Kratos. And no, not GoW 3 and Ascension, but GoW Ghost of Sparta, 2 and 3. Ascension was before Kratos became the God of War, replacing Ares, which was why Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, and Ares were still alive. Which means, if they granted Kratos' wish, GoW Ghost of Sparta, 2, and 3 would never have existed.

Kratos was being arrogant meanwhile the sisters of fate manipulated his as he was being arrogant and didn't know what was actually happening, but after gaia resurrected him he realized his mistake and stopped being arrogant, after that you see all the challenges in the game that sisters of fate left for him he literary beat all of them and beat the sisters themselves

Favourite moment is when Kratos looks back at his army being destroyed as Zeus swings the blade in the air. Amazing music to compliment the moment. Really shows how much he cared about his army after he said ‘you’ll pay for this. Be Certain of that’

@@rawenmakboul7679 Zeus was a shitty father but he had the excuse that he only went against Kratos due to being affected by the "Fear" from Pandora box, which made him grow completely paranoid, especially Paranoid about Kratos You could already see that in GoW 2, Zeus is obsessed with the fear that Kratos wanted to kill him and take his place, just like he did with Cronos His fear was always there and thus to not let his children used against him, he forced to silence mother But after the Fear of Pandora Box affects him, he slowly lose sanity, and he become convinced that Kratos only seek to Kill and replace "Swear to me that you will always obey me" "You will never be the ruler of Olympus" "The cycle ends here" Zeus had started judging Kratos, not on his action, but on what Zeus fear Kratos action would become "It is you who betrayed me" Because Zeus was convinced by his fear that every action taken by Kratos was to betray him *This fear made Zeus weak of mind and unironically, was what pushed Kratos to do what Zeus feared in the first, a self-fullfiling prophecy* And Zeus wasn't alone, every god ended up corrupted by Kratos opening the pandora box Except Ares, Ares singlehandedly ruined Kratos life at every turn, his brother, his wife, his daughter, even taking revenge against him costed Kratos his father, When Kratos offered his life to Ares for prowess in battle, little did he know Ares was going to take everything, even from the start (it is also the only greek god Kratos doesn't feel any pity toward For the other gods,You can see, at their death, their body relinquishing the cataclysm from the box that had corrupted them At the end, Kratos learned the truth, which is why he and everyone blame him so much He chose war and violence after losing his brother His path of war costed him his wife and daughter because of the god of war Ares He chose a path of vengeance against Ares His path led to the corruption of all the gods and pandora cataclysm unleashed on Olympus, leading to the gods trying to kill him He chose a path of vengeance against all gods This final path costed the life of nearly everyone, as each god killed released the cataclysm inside them, Kratos direct action and selfish revenge brought a close end to this world and killed thousands, if not millions of people By the end, most of his allies had left in disgust, turned against him or he had let them die for the sake of his revenge (Pandora) His only ally left was Athena, but Kratos realized that Athena ghost had succumbed to the evil of greed, Athena had succumbed in the afterlife to the evil of greed She had resisted to this evil while alive, trying to save Kratos from his own revenge at the cost of her life But before him was not the athena he knew, but a ghost corrupted by greed as a consequence to Kratos quest of revenge, he had become a tool of destruction that destroyed everyone, those he was used against or those that used him, as a true embodiment of war Knowing Hope, like the evil, would be released upon a fatal wound, he did the last thing he could, not to redeem himself, just to stop this cycle And tried to kill himself with the blade of Olympus The story of Kratos is great, because while his vengeance seems absolutely justified on every point, you realize at the end, that no vengeance is justified no matter the cost

I only have played Chains of Olympus and that was years before having played 2018 God of War and now having played 3 games and watched story summary? Kratos really have evolved from being a kill happy guy to wise, if hard, dad with baggage and stories to tell to his son.

Best game in the series for me. Played this one plenty of times. Titan difficulty is punishing and Theseus is such a hump to get past. The story is just so good.

If there's anything this series has taught me, it's that the Greek gods have an abondance of hubris. That makes me wonder what did Narcissus do in the G.O.W. universe?

Yes. Zeus did the right thing, but he wasn't the right guy to do this. The gods were selfish and did not care about mortals, but they were essentials. Kratos from GOW2 to GOW3 does not care about no one. He preferes to fight, murder and destroy everything just to acomplish his own goals. We like him cause he's a badass, his game is awesome and he is the protagonist. But... we can't be blind!

I think that Game protagonists have an easier time being flawed than characters from movies and books,iunno,these sort of characters on said other medias just feel a little...odd where they need a part where it's make obvious the implication that they weren't written as good people not even compared to the rest of the people on the story...hell sometimes they will just go right and say it because the chances of people not liking the character when they're not purposely made as an asshole is big,it's still pretty easy not to like said characters even if they're purposely like that and justified... But when it comes to game characters,in particular Kratos,because it's a game,I just can't help but feel sympathetic for him despite all the shit he does,gaming immersion makes this kind of characters shine really well; Like,despite Zeus not really doing much other than defending all that he has created,you just feel like he's a bastard for killing who was essentially the number one threat to everything,and I just find that fascinating.It's like you can actually put yourself into the shoes of the main character in said situations because you think you're the one who mostly controls his actions,even on a linear story.

One of the things that I love about this scene is Gaia. She has narrated the God of War games and we have always seen her as a narrator. Nothing more. So hearing the sentence "His death was something that I could not allow." was mind-blowing.

Athena *did not* care about Kratos. She was the God of Wisdom and she used that wisdom to manipulate the other gods and then kratos at the start of GoW1. She pretended to be a goody two shoes ,playing sides the whole time just to get kratos to kill off all the other gods-and convince kratos to give her the power of the other gods so she can be the *One true god* ruler over greece.

It’s been so many years and I’ve replayed this part hundreds of times by now, but I never noticed that the music that plays when Zeus is beating the weaken Kratos is exactly the same one when Kratos beats the hell out of Zeus in the end of GoW 3. The cycle is now complete.
