If I remember correctly (and more of a fun fact), the son of one of the members of Korn (I got it right; Jonathan Davis' son) was inspired by this album and made his own career with his friend as a Dubstep DJ duo based on it, the duo's name is Hi I'm Ghost if someone is wondering tho

I remember listening to Narcissistic Cannibal on the library computers in high school while playing Halo CE in a Lan Party with all my classmates.
When I was 13 I was obsessed with Korn and Skrillex and this album coming out was basically a major event in the timeline of my life. I'm actually so glad it happened because its one of the funniest memories I have of being a stupid teenager.

I remember seeing Skrillex before he was Skrillex, with From First to Last. And what made it really weird is that Wes Borland was on bass. And they had all clearly taken influence from him as they were all smeared in black body paint. Good times.

It does make a bit of sense. Skrillex used to be the singer for From First to Last before he was doing Dubstep. He went from post-hardcore to Dubstep and now he's dragging Korn along with him lmao. Ride the Wings of Pestilence still slaps.
As a guy who has made a lot of badly aged dubstep, I was still not prepared for how badly this one aged. I really liked the album they put out a couple years before with Terry Bozzio though

I think a major problem, at least from how I'm hearing it, is the mixing (I think that's what it's called) Korn man sounds like he's sitting in the back of a garage singing while a friend blasts his EDM mixtape into your ears

They honestly got some great producers on there, it's dumb & hasn't aged well but I do appreciate the fact they got Noisia & Feed Me in on it
I was a korn fan back in the day and we did pretty much the same thing radiohead fans did to pablo honey If we just pretend it didnt exist, it didnt.

Hey cool fact, in the "Chaos Lives In Everything" music video, I'm one of the children to beat the homeless guy in the alleyway(Around the 1 minute mark). That homeless guy is also David Deroo from Adema, a later scene has David being controlled by a kid. His face is more visible there.

this used to be my favorite korn album back when i was in elementary school 😅 used to be heavy into the early 10s dubstep stuff and i was pretty much raised on metal music. haven’t listened to it in almost a decade and this has aged horrendously. its the perfect time capsule of what was happening around that time, for better or for worse

Wow I feel old To me this was... not the best Korn album. But it has its moments. To me it hasn't really aged at all. It still seems new. And it's still... okay. Well it has like 3 good songs.
When i went through my skrillex phase, i was always a huge korn fan so this album has some noatalgia for me. It aged like a nice glass of milk but still i have a fondness for it. Still love Korn though
Listened to this album unironically in middle/high school. Get Up and Narcissistic Cannibal are part of my chuldhood sound no matter what lol. Couldnt believe when this vid popped up in my feed

I've been tempted to submit Celldweller songs and albums to Brad myself... but the price is too steep for me, especially when I have absolutely no idea if he'd like it or not. I'm honestly really bad at judging his tastes in general so I might've been wrong and should've sent something in back when his price was lower.

@@XLRider2 If you send in a song, I'd probably go with something on the Self-Titled album, either Switchback or Own Little World. Switchback is one of THE Celldweller songs. Own Little World is just a really fun song to get into. If you want to try something a bit more risky, maybe The Last Firstborn. It is longer, but it's definitely one of the most interesting songs from Self-Titled.
Korn invented dubstep.

My memory of this album was going to see Korn live shortly after they released this album. They got violently booed after they play any song of this album. Never see anything live that before or since that in my 25 years of concert going.
i grew up on this . dubstep/nu metal. it fundamentally changed me
wow, i remember when this dropped and everyone was trashing it. kinda one of my formative memories of first getting into albums and finding out about stuff like this, lulu, the shaggs, st. anger, etc. a blast from the past!
The only props i can give this album is that Jonathan Davis truly loved Dubstep and made this album with dubstep artists. Wasnt chasing the trend but really liked it

My dig with this album is i could've sworn I've heard Narcisstic Cannibal without the dubstep by Korn (not a cover, but i am aware of the cover by Earlyrise), and I have no idea how i convinced myself i heard this.
Narcissistic Cannibal is so damn good. I can't believe I forgot it.

Dude, I remember being in High School when this came out. Korn instantly went from respectable nu-metal holdout to one of music's first true memes. The fact that this managed to age badly when it was already the most laughed-at release of its year is impressive.
I feel like I watched this stream live but this album sounds like a literal fever dream that I thought that this album was a figment of my imagination.

If you want a really good Korn album start to finish, listen to "See you on the other side" by them. It is honestly the most interesting, experimental, fun Korn experience ever.
Well I assume it prob influenced Imagine Dragons new numetal dubstep single "Eyes Closed".

I have a love-hate relationship with this album mostly because It was the 1st Korn album I've owned as a Teen and it was my introduction to the band eventually I went on to listen to their early work which compared to this is leagues above better
