Johnathan is actually very softspoken in his speaking voice. Cool contrast to his singing voice, he is very emotive in his vocals and his lyrics. More KoRn please! They're my favorite band!

What happened to the child? There are two versions of the video of this song, and this is the 'censored' version which is the continuation of the 'uncensored' one that appeared on MTV's. The song, the music and the voice are the same, only that one video is the continuation of the other

I saw on a forum that his complete vocal range is an A1 - F5 (3 octaves and 8 semi notes, almost close to 4 octaves by 4 semi notes) which seems like a typical vocal range for alt metal singer of his class, but what makes him stand out by most is what he can do with his voice. Due to his asthma, he tends to sound very breathy and seems to have not much complete control in his voice but Jonathan is a master of changing his texture. One part he's sounding raspy, another time clean, some times aggressive and sometimes melancholic. His many voices include the following: The atmospheric melancholic sounding falsettos The breathless yet hostile screams/shrieks The clean high head voice The demented scat/beatbox The fryish creepy/sexy toasting (the act of talking or chanting, usually in a monotone melody, over a rhythm or beat usually famous with DJs) The monstrous death growls The raspy yet melodious flow in his singing The thrash grunts usually when he's trying to make a point

JD is very much an emotional singer. Def have a look at some interviews for his talking voice. Big Korn fan here haha, so if you have a chance definitely check out more by them. I’d go with “Good God” or “Got the life” by them. Also try to check out some Live videos of them too. They are just as amazing live! Very interesting & good analysis btw! People forget how big Korn was in the late 90s and early 2000s. Topping the charts right along the side of the biggest Pop/boybands of the time and often knocking them out of the number one spot. Saw them pre pandemic and the band and JD sounded great.

His wife was mentally ill and died from an accidental prescription drug overdose. He wrote a whole thing about it. It was beautiful and sobering at the same time. He also had his own problems with anxiety attacks, and the drugs he was prescribed for it made him even sicker. He used to also get beat up a lot in school for wearing dresses and makeup (his favorite band was Duran Duran) and that made his anxiety worse. Early on in the band's history people in the clubs would sometimes try to punch him. They write a song about it. "Clown".

Kiss ass AI. "Your reactions to different performances are always so genuine and authentic. It's clear that you truly love and appreciate music, and it makes your videos even more enjoyable to watch." "Your channel is one of my favorites on KZread. Your analysis of different performances is always so insightful and well-informed, and I look forward to each new video you post." I then asked it to do an analysis of this channel. "Based on the descriptions of her videos and the content she has posted, it seems that Jennifer is a knowledgeable and experienced vocal coach who is passionate about helping others improve their singing skills. She appears to be friendly, engaging, and approachable, and her videos seem to be well-received by her viewers. Overall, it seems that Jennifer's KZread channel is a valuable resource for singers and music enthusiasts who are looking to improve their vocals and learn more about singing technique. Her videos offer helpful tips and insights, and her vocal analysis and critiques provide valuable feedback and guidance for aspiring singers." I wonder if you can program it with "a-hole" mode so it just comes up with insults and criticism? Anyway great reaction =)

If you want to hear a song that’s not as heavy, where you can get a clearer sense for his clean vocals try “Alone I Break”

Welcome to the kings of American nu metal, which I understand could be quite the heady experience for an English girl. Jonathan Davis is really some kind of unique performer vocally. His speaking voice is actually high and soft, but when he does distorted screaming he tends to pitch it lower for harsh growls. So it’s kind of a vocal contrast, which I’ve heard in some other singers. KoRn as a band have outlasted the trend they helped create for a reason. Over the course of their career they’ve recorded numerous tracks worth a listen. P.S. I want to suggest/request a new artist for you for 2023: the late, great Chris Cornell. A vocal range very close to four octaves and considered one of the most powerful singers in the history of rock music. He was a member of several bands and also released a good wealth of solo material. When he unleashes the full force of his voice you won’t be disappointed.
