    Best sound demo I've seen for this. Thank you for not being like everyone just playing sequence patterns and jerking off the filter knob the whole damn video. I appreciate you sir, great job!

    I hear ya and you are true this dude has a strong synth game. Yet Korg's flagship prologue doesnt come with a sequencer maybe thats why he dont really bother with Sequences. But sometimes no hands on keys on a sequence but on knobs will allow us ytube viewers to visual the sonic possibilities of a synth better though.

    One thing Korg and the ‘Logue series doesn’t get credit for is the simple interface that’s also somehow extremely versatile. The way the EG and LFO work in tandem is genius and gives it so much more sonic capability. Also the extra digital parameters. This is basically a 2 VCO poly with a digital FM, Noise, and Wavetable synth inside it. With custom FX. So much to explore and the interface makes it so easy.

    Is the miniLogue MKII a 4 voice prologue? (I mean regarding oscillators and filter)

  • @TheTerracide

    @@javiceres For anyone that has the same question: there is a sonic difference because the oscillators and the filters are not the same. The Prologue has a fatter and richer sound and there are two ADSR's on the Prologue (for amp and filter) while the Minilogue XD has one. But the Prologue only has one LFO and lacks the sequencer present on the Minilogue XD so you can do really different things on the XD. I think the Prologue is really meant as a synthesizer in the classic way. Does not do many tricks but what it does is really great.

    @@TheTerracide that’s true. I use old rhythm wolfs to sequence my sub 37 and also it’s own sequencer. Haven’t felt the need to sequence the Prologue because the timing used for the sounds are so eloquent. Good thing it’s a modern synth and will soon record it on the MPC One.

    I have a korg prologue for my cinematic ambient music, but mainly make my own patches with it. Some presets are great, but most of the presets are very mediocre. it is great for ambient music when you make your own patches from scratch and pair with many reverb pedals and other effects. I use a strymon bluesky - paired with the korg it is great. I use the prologue 8's arpegiator a lot on my first album (on my channel if anyone is interested)

    Great demo! i planned to buy one, but finally I got a REV2. For 3 months only, and sold it because of its too complex modulation matrix and silly method of multi timbrality. The more I hear the Prologue, the more I find this synth the ideal analog budget polysynth.

  • @MrTommyfrizz

    @MrTommyfrizz

    4 жыл бұрын

    The analog keys is only 4 voices where as this is 8. The best part of the analog keys is each voice has its own sequencer filter etc. So you can essentially have 4 different monosynths on one machine. That said this sounds waaaaayyyyyyy better. I have an analog 4 which is basically the same thing without keys and it doesn't sound this good. So its a matter of what you plan on doing with it. The korg sounds phatter but is more limited in sound design song writing potential.

    If you are going for multi-timbral chords or pads with a long release time, the voice stealing may be a drag on the 8 voice. Im not sure how my sound design will evolve- so I'm saving for a 16 voice to be on the safe side.

    I just heard for the time the prologue 16 last week at a local music store. I already owned a minilogue XD, polybrute, OB6, and Prophet 10, and a few others. I thought I was finished with buying synths after my last purchase of the polybrute...until I heard this one in action. I bought it a few days later after trying to duplicate its musical qualities on the XD. Couldn't do it. The XD is great, but the Prologue is on the same group or level as the OB6, Prophet 10, and Polybrut. If I had to keep only 4 synths, these would be the ones. I'm planning on selling my XD. Btw, the Prologue has a sound quality for certain patches, or types of sounds that even the other 3 can't come up to. So it has its place and is a lot less expensive. There's just something about it's sound. Its quintessential analog synth in character..its just what you expect it should be...its matches the best you've heard....its classic and with the added digital osc, it can be even much more. If you're thinking about getting an XD, dont make the same mistake I made and think the XD is the same as the prologue for sound, it's not. Try the prologue first.

    I swear, every synthesizer must come with the same cheesy presets. Who uses this garbage? I'm not saying it's a bad synth because I hate the presets in all of my favorite synths. I'm just saying I want to like this so I have an excuse to buy another synth and these presets sure are not doing the trick. I'll keep digging for some more interesting examples.
