Korg NanoKONTROL 2 - the budget-friendly answer to simplifying your recording and mixing process

Музыка

NOTE: Apologies for the soft focus in this video. I was testing out a camera setup and on reflection I think it's not quite up to scratch. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
This is a video about the NanoKontrol 2 from Korg.
I picked up this control surface on a whim one day from Facebook Marketplace. I'd seen them before but never got round to picking one up so I just took a chance as it was a bargain. I've spent varying amounts of money on other control surfaces and not really stuck with any of them, in fact favouring the Logic Remote on my iPad over them all, but the convenience of this one is hard to argue with. It's very simple and it just works. You be forgiven for thinking it was an Apple product!
I can't really think of anything I'd change about this device, and it remains one of the best investments I have made in the studio setup. It might be nice to see a refreshed version with a USB-C connection, and perhaps if it was a major upgrade then a rechargeable battery and wifi/bluetooth connectivity so you could use it wirelessly from further away, but all that would probably just increase the price beyond what most people would be comfortable with.
Do you have a favourite control surface to use with your DAW of choice that's just a nice simple budget solution to some of the most common tasks? If so, I'd love to discuss it in the comments.
If you're interested in getting one for yourself, you can scour the used market like I did, or you can pick them up at a very reasonable price from your favourite retailer. Below I've added an affiliate link if you want to use that, it all helps to develop this channel.

Cheers. I am really happy with it. Since filming this I have discovered they do make a more advanced wireless controller so I am considering checking that out but for this small form factor I don’t think you can go wrong.

Nice work man. Super cool bit of kit! Very nice feature that the sliders don’t drag until you reach the current point. Is it just plug & play with Logic or do you have to assign things?

Yup it’s just plug and play with Logic. I’m not sure if that’s the same with all DAWs but I certainly expect so with the major ones
