BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA - Welcome to Busan, a major city in southern South Korea and it happens to be one of the seafood capitals of the world! Today we’re going on an extreme street food and seafood tour in Busan - get prepared for some of the best local Korean food.
Jagalchi Market, Busan, South Korea - No trip to Busan is complete without visiting the main seafood market where you can literally busy anything from the sea - it’s supposedly the biggest seafood market in South Korea. You can buy fresh seafood and go to a restaurant upstairs to cook and eat it. Price at seafood meal: 90,000 KRW ($67.38 USD) for seafood
Baekhwa Yang-gobchang (백화양곱창) - When people in th seafood industry want to eat, they might be pretty tired of seafood, and so one of the historical foods to eat in Busan is actually intestines bbq at the market. They grill it right in front of you, the big and small intestines. It’s an amazing experience! Price at intestines bbq: 75,000 KRW ($56.15 USD) for everything
Gukje Milmyeon (국제밀면) - There’s nangmyeon in the north, but in the south of Busan, milmyeon is the noodle of choice, and it’s a Korean food you don’t want to miss. Price: 9,000 KRW ($6.74 USD) per bowl
Gukje Market Food Street (국제시장) - Next up on this Korean street food tour in Busan we visited the Gukje Market for some of the most iconic street food snacks.
Amnam Park - Pojang Macha - Lastly there’s no Korean food experience quite like eating at a Pojang Macha, a tent on the side of the sea where people come to eat and drink and grill trays of seafood with butter and cheese!
Busan is a fantastic city and a must visit destination if you love Korean food!
Thank you to KTO (Korea Tourism Organization) for sponsoring and making my trip to South Korea happen!

This series is legit the greatest showcase of Korean cuisine for a Western audience of all time. These are unique experiences that most non-Koreans would never even conceive of. We should all feel lucky to enjoy it. Thank you Mark! And also the Korean Tourism Board for curating such a great trip

I agree that wherever Mr. Wiens goes he becomes an ambassador for the cuisine of that country, and showcases the good...sometimes comments complain that he never says anything bad, but I once saw him questioned about that and his response was that he was not interested in putting people down...if its bad he just won't show it. He and his team are one of the two best food Vloggers on KZread. That said, and in direct reference to your comment, I wonder if you've ever watched www.youtube.com/@koreanenglishman . If you have, fair enough, but if you haven't and you respect those who showcase Korean cuisine (and culture), then I've done a good thing, and you're in for a treat...well several months of a treat!!

That’s interesting because I don’t think Mark Wiens particularly likes Korean food all that much except for Korean BBQ and a few noteworthy dishes he LOVES like Galchi Jorim (see Marks videos from his big Korea trip- Jeonju videos 6 years ago)….in those old videos Mark is more realistic and honest imo..not many foods wow’d him. He might have palate preferences but at least he was honest and not so “commercial” …Mark doesn’t like overly salty foods and wow Koreans have a heavy hand with the salt…he also seriously dislikes sweet savory foods like a sweet gochujang casserole..anyways I prefer old Mark better.

@@krislv9219Thing is none of the Korean food he tried here is particularly known to be salty or sweet-savory. There's so many different flavors and ppl seem to misunderstand Korean food bc of the types of foods that got famous overseas. Also, idk why ppl like you feel the need to hear some form of negative critique when it won't matter whether he's genuine or not at the end of the day lmao. Is he your bluetooth tastebud that'll make you decide on what you'll try when you visit other countries?

Busan is really one of the world's top seafood destinations. Came back from a 2-week vacation there about 4 months ago and still missing that beautiful city dearly. I can eat every single seafood offering in Korea EXCEPT sea pineapples. Those really throw me off. 😅 Also, one of the best times to go is also during Korea's oyster season. They're cheap, huge, fresh, clean and absolutely tasty.

I think Mark's new permanent residence will be in South Korea 🤣 I'm a seafood NUT and this looks like heaven to me. We had a place with live tanks like this when I as a child growing up in South Louisiana. It was like a live aquarium to me as a child but we would eat what we chose from the tanks just like this place! You could also always find live shrimp, crabs and oysters straight off the boats. I live in the midwest now (Denver) and really miss the fresh seafood more than anything else.
