Hello, I'm the woman in the video.~ When I went on a trip to England, I wanted to play the piano, so I happened to play it, but you came to the side and thought you were the construction manager of the next building. You were a famous KZreadr! I didn't even know the video was uploaded, but it wasn't until 4 months later that my friend asked me if I was right. I found out! It is a mix of Amazing Grace and Arirang, a traditional Korean song. It's not a great performance or a great singing ability, but I wanted to introduce our Arirang further, so I sang it in Korean! I'm happy and grateful to see more good comments.

John Newton, an English man, wrote Amazing Grace 350 years ago! Beauty lasts forever. "Greensleeves," a traditional tune played everywhere, was written by King Henry VIII 650 years ago. Beauty has no age, is everlasting. Suzanna played it (Arirang) beautifully, and her singing added personal intimacy of two different worlds through the language of music. Thank you both, Suzanna and Brendan. It touched me. Add to that, an English man who doesn't know Korean, a Korean girl who doesn't know English, and two piano players who had never met playing a seamless beautiful, improvised duet of a 600+ year Korean folk song. Only thru music! It brings tears to my eyes.

Music is one of the very, very few things, that can unite strangers. Country of origin, language, skin color, religion, sexuality, politics - it all becomes quite irrelevant, because Music is something anyone can understand and relate to. And that is a beautiful thing. The only other thing I can think about that can do something remotely similar, is food. But not to to the same extend.

It's a variation of Arirang, a Korean traditional song. It's a song that has the resentment of the Korean people. I like it.

Susanna Jung Amazing Grace와 아리랑을 섞어 연주하신게 의도하신건지는 모르겠지만, Amazing grace를 애국가로 부르던 체로키족이 조선반도에서 건너간 민족이라는 가설도 있더라고요. 아마 저 유투버분도 두 노래의 비슷한점를 포착하신거같습니다. 좋은연주 잘 들었습니다 ㅎㅎ

As much as the lady played the piano I would've still loved Brandon Kavanagh to to show his exceptional skills. That would've completed the show!!!!

When two or more people perform a song together there's some sort of a magic connection that can happen. It doesn't need to be perfect, in fact the piano wasn't even in tune, but anybody watching this could see the FUN meter was at max.

You know, with the amount of soul they put into this, it didn't even matter that the piano was slightly out! Music crosses great boundaries and the fact that Brendan picked up on the similarities between Arirang and Amazing Grace was really intuitive, and the girl playing, I think was equally surprised when it actually fit with the chords she was playing. Well done you two!! I think everyone went away happy here, especially the lady filming the whole thing on her phone with tears running down her face!😍 You're one of a kind Brendan!😁👍

I think the mashup is her idea, as she was definitely playing the melody to Amazing Grace at the start of the video. The Arirang melody has same 5 note scale as Amazing Grace and most of the chords work.

The Master! Nothing but joy and good stuff!

That moment of Dr.K and Susanna playing together was pure magic.

The song is arirang a korean folk song. You dont have to know the language to tear up, know the lyrics and you'll understand how meaningful the song is. Its a beautiful song.

John Smith : Yes, on English songs. They have many songs of their own and in their own language. When it comes to music, it does not really matter much if they are copied and sung, so long as the original songs are not passed as the copier’s original song. Does it?

Cynthia Arons, what I mean is they make a new song which sounds strikingly similar in tune and melody (not sure what exactly to call it), then they use different words and pass it off as their own song. I have heard this in Thailand and Vietnam at least. I can try and link an example later if you are interested.

Amazing Grace gets me teared up every time. It's been played so many times after the loss of one my comrades.

As a korean dude i’ve been thinkin Amazing Grace and Arirang(korean traditional song the girl playin) have quite similar vibe. And they killed it💯

it's a 17th century English "folk song" that the colonialists took with them to the "New World". .....wer'nt as new as they thought it was.....or maybe they did. Spies were "abroad" every where, at home and in the colonies, the european muscle men flexing large, like, mr Choi. One last big scrap deemed the contiguous states would speak english. me ?, i think they "all should speak "Athabascan"........so there.
