Eline Jean i can relate so much. I got my friend into kpop and now thats LITERALLY ALL she talks about. She really over reacts when fangirling to the point where she legit screams in class about kpop and plays kpop on full volume in front of everyone like chill. Don't worry. I'm Taiwanese and I met this friend at summer camp and she asked "Do you know kpop?". I said "yes, I do. What made you ask me that?". She responded to me with the worst answer. "Because your korean". I wanted to call her a bitch, I got so angry. I could tell she was a koreaboo from the start because she kept calling this guy older than her "oppa". She even tries to sing in "Korean". She has such a great singing voice but I mean come on! Trying to sound out the words in 23 by IU does not make you korean because you cant change being Caucasian!

Beatrice Mayfield I think this is one reason why my boss said I should quit everything related to Korea, cause he is Korean and as he found out I knew how to diss someone in Korean, he than freaked out even I never told him, that I would know how to diss someone in Korean. Some weeks later he saw the background oft my computer at work (I have BTS AS background) and he was like "WAT WAT WAT IS THIS? 1 2 3 4 5 6 7? Are those 7 twins? Is this the Japanese maffia?" I said "eh no" and he said "but but who are they?" as I said that they would be a boygroup, he looked at me as if I said something horrible vor scary to him^^ My boss later made a awfull joke as I got new glasses, wich are a bit like the style you offen see in Korea (those round retro style glasses ) and I feel like if he don't likes the fact that I like Korea... My boss is allways mean to me and not to my coworkers...

The girls there asked me if I was Asian, I said yes and they say hello in Korean whenever the see me( I don't know the romanization) and then, I got popular at school because my school was obsessed with Kpop and are all KBoos they think every Asians are trainees

JApplesALOt “OT” means “one true” and then you put the number of people in the group, for example BTS has 7 members, so its “OT7”. But it could also be “OT9, OT10” and so forth depending on the amount of members. Which it means all the members are your bias (favorite member)because you can’t pick a bias.

I think it's totally fine to be interested in a different culture and language, specifically an Asian language. It does not make you a koreaboo or a weaboo or anything other than a normal human being. The only things people do that I find very annoying and koreaboo/weaboo like is to try and look Asian, pretend like you actually are Asian (I've seen a few of those comments on here), and only learn a few phrases or words in the language and call yourself fluent. Learning K-pop or J-pop dances, learning the language, and learning the culture is completely normal. I myself am not Asian but I'm currently learning Korean and I hope to move to Korea one day. There's nothing wrong with it. And I do understand that many people "worship" Asians but some people are just amazed by the culture and all that but there are some who just do it because of idols or whatever.

Donut Yoongs You're so right. I'm currently studying Korean at the moment and used to be really interested in Japanese culture. I am in no way a koreaboo or weaboo. I've always been interested in other cultures and languages, but the ones I chose to learn about just so happen to be Asian. These people, however, are kinda scary and it's not normal to be that obsessed.

Super real question: does wanting to live in Korea for a while (like a year or so) make me a koreaboo? I am actually interested in Korean culture and language and I'm not delusional about Korean people, nor do I wish I were Asian (I'm perfectly fine being white lol). I have also always wanted to live abroad (it was Scotland first, then Ireland, then Puerto Rico, then Spain, then Korea). I was introduced to Korean culture through kpop, yes, but I am aware that there is more to it than that, I'm just afraid that people will think I'm a delusional crazy koreaboo since I do happen to like kpop. (I was also introduced to Irish culture through their music too, and I genuinely think music is a great way to learn about and become interested in a culture). I have always had the travel bug, and I am passionate about experiencing other cultures and learning languages (I am currently learning Spanish and I want to learn Korean, German, and Irish). I feel like my reasons for wanting to live there are genuine and innocent, but I am worried that people will think I am a koreaboo just because I was first introduced to the culture through its pop music. Am I overthinking this? I know a girl who's legitly a koreaboo and she's so cringy and I just really don't want people to see me in that way.
