I love when they say "you can't film me, that's illegal" because that's just not true. At all. If you are in a public space or a publicly owned building, like a mall, you can absolutely film. It's 100% legal. There may be some stores you can't film in because they are owned by individual businesses, but the mall itself you can film in. I've been a skateboarder for a little over 15 years. I'll level with ya, it does cause property damage more often than not, a lot of skaters get loud as shit when they can't land a trick or finish a line, they'll start yelling "fuck", accidentally hit someone's shin with a board when they fall, and open owners of property up to lawsuits if these skaters get hurt on their property. I think this would easily be solved by having more designated areas allocated to skateboards/bikes/scooters, but I get how this would be a huge trigger for a karen.

I love how that young woman responded about talking to security. She was so chill and honest. "Oh I'm not following you, you can tell them what I look like.." Haha 😂 Great response!

it’s pretty much legal everywhere except in certain stores/businesses/buildings where there is a “reasonable expectation of privacy” in lawyer terms. Places like outside, the subway, public property, etc don’t have reasonable expectations of privacy but somebody’s back yard, a certain business like Walmart, or a church might be very likely to have a reasonable expectation of privacy

i love it too, because, as a photography student, it's a big thing to learn about the legality of filming and taking photos in public. you're allowed to take photos of anyone in public, unless they have a reasonable expectation of privacy, such as a changing room. so it's even funnier that the woman would just be told that they're allowed to do that and be told to piss off.

Depends on any state you are in. In California it is illegal to film someone in an area that you couldn’t assume they would film you. So I can film you at a mall or convention because by entering you assuming consent to be filmed because it’s public.

Honestly, u don't know this. It wasn't part of the video, which means it shouldnt be considered as an argument at all. I think she was actually very cultural about it. She wasn't yelling, she asked them to stop and explained why it bothered her. But people will find any reason to call others out. Pretty sure response to me saying this will be "case and point".
