I always wondered why Undertaker switched up his Tombstone when he came back in 1994. He used to do it over one shoulder and "trap" the opponent's arm nearest him and I personally loved that variation of it the most. In fact I'd scream at the TV as a kid about how Ted Dibiase's Underfaker wasn't real because his Tombstone was different.
@Gigadenza
Ай бұрын
I think ultimately, it must’ve been for safety reasons. A conventional tombstone pile driver - which I remember first seeing Dave Fit Finley use on world of sport in the late 80s (check out 22:09 in this video kzread.info/dash/bejne/l2Guk5RyeqXPibA.htmlsi=syVqVFD8zXxxraeW) is always performed with the deliverer’s head between their opponents knees to ensure that weight is evenly born and allow the “receiver” as secure a grip as possible around the “giver’s” waste!! When lifting heavier athletes, this method also minimises the chance of the overbalancing when executing the manoeuvre, which could cause an injury to either. Having said that I do recall Taker, having performed at least one of his tombstones on Mark Henry using the riskier technique… which I guess is a testament to both his strength and the knowledge he’d accrued from around 20 more years of experience.
@theofficialgreenkane9645
Ай бұрын
I think it has to do with safety but also equal distribution of weight. Undertaker has more control like that. Also it’s sort’ve used like a measuring stick to ensure the opponents head never touches- As long as Takers face was visible, that meant their body & head were not too low, not too high.

Hogan did A LOT to make the business what it is today. But at the same time he was such a bad person behind the scenes. With his whining and trying to bury others so he could stay on top. The stupid thing about Hogan's antics is that just a couple minutes before the chair spot, he took another tombstone that he no-sold and started his "Hulk-Up" routine.
To be fair, the plan was for Hogan/Flair at WM8 (or Hogan/Sid depending on who you believe), so I don’t think there was ever any intention for Taker to stay champ for long. And Tuesday in Texas was an experiment that had been in the works, so I actually believe that what happened would’ve happened regardless of Hogan’s fake injury.

I will agree there my own thoughts were by the time Flair came in Vince is thinking I have the two biggest names in wrestling over tye last 10 years Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair at the same time. So I could see let's get the belt off Hogan in a controversial way, then hold the belt up at the Rumble, Flair wins the Rumble and belt, is now the champ but here comes Hogan challenging for the belt. That's my thoughts but from what I understand they had a series of house shows in late 91 and early 92 that never did well ticket wise so that's why Vince pivoted to another match.
It always amazes me Hogan worried about the Tombstone that finished him as opposed to the one he no sold 🤦♂️

Taker is the sort of guy i would buy a beer without hesitation if he said he was thirsty. It is absolutely crystal from both his in ring work and his interviews etc, that he has too much respect for himself and everyone else to be anything other than awesome! He has class, and a real gentleman is inside that deadman exterior facade that we see in ring, a true performer and gave his all. At least among my generation and doubtless many more, Taker will be remembered as one of, if not the greatest of all time, and i can say i bet he had a tremendously positive impact in the locker room in terms of setting a fine example to up and coming talent on how to conduct business correctly. I wish Taker, and indeed all my wrestling hero's that i did not name, a long and happy life with good health in retirement from the business. Your fans salute you! Thank you Taker.

Hogan is a scumbag.
What Hogan done was a Shifty dirty trick that the old school wrestlers did sabotage the new and upcoming Stars to bury them.
I think it was WrestleMania 14, Taker vs Kane. Those Tombstone's were legit. Kane being all yoked up is probably the only thing that saved him haha
Mark is such a great interview, lol. Who'd have imagined it 20 years ago. :)
Please talk about Suburban commando

Omg! That would be epic if we could hear him talk about that, as well as his Poltergeist appearance. He has never spoken on that before. I wish creative interviewers like you and I were up there
Fun fact: Shane was only 5 years younger then undertaker at the time,my assumption is that Shane had a hardcore baby face and everyone thought he was way younger taker was 26 and Shane was 21.
I've taken the Tombstone once(not from Taker, but an indy wrestler) I was incredibly nervous, but he knew what he was doing. The move was pulled off perfectly, I didn't get hurt.
I love how that guy was like “KoKo vs THIS teehee” bruh….google KoKo B Ware backstage fights. He was a tough TOUGH mf’r. He was solid thick and double tough. Don’t get tv wrestling records and belts confused with real toughness.
Has Hogan ever responded to this story?

You can see Taker is a good guy in how he’s tolerating these two clowns.

Mike Utley is a former offensive guard for the Detroit Lions. He had broken his neck and been paralyzed chest-down in a game a few weeks prior to Survivor Series. It was big news in the sports world, and Hogan had gone and visited him at the hospital a day or two before SS (Gorilla and Heenan even mentioned Utley during the broadcast).

I always wondered what Bizarre was talking about in that song "roommates with Mike Utley" 😂
These folks have great chemistry. Please have Tony on more often.
I detest Tony but will always listen to legends of wrasslin tell stories.
