I am incredibly delighted with these wonderful and imaginative cantus firmus performances of the hymn "Befiehl du deine Wege" by Mr Sietze de Vries. They are of marvellous perfection, unrestrained and utmost joy of playing as well as virtuosity. I get goose bumps and my heart is deeply touched by this full-blooded music-making in pure baroque counterpoint. It is so infinitely good to listen to and refreshes the soul and captures the heart. It is a wonderful pleasure. The Koegler organ has fantastic stops with wonderful tone colours. Mr de Vries is a master of the organ. Many thanks Mr de Vries. Bedankt.

Gewoonweg een subliem staaltje van pure Barok muziek die recht uit het hart komt. Hoe doe je het toch Sietze... Magnifiek! Ik zou al heel tevreden zijn met 10% van jouw talent ❤

Master de Vriws and Balant Karosi never fail to surprise and delight. When at Teachers' College in 1966, the music lecturer was asked "Could composers of today compose music like the Baroque masters?" "They could, but it wouldn't be accepted because it's not progressive and innovative." He hadn't come across Michel Chapuis, even then!

To me it sounds like a Vivaldi concerto transcribed by Bach. It is beautiful. A wonderful example of using the concerto form for chorale improvisation.

Lovely, thanks, but I'm confused by the title (e.g. what is "Enns (AT)"?) and the very limited information in the blurb. I watch/listen to lots of organ music, and I like to know the source(s) of the music and the organ and location etc. Contextual information really enhances the listening experience for me. Lots of your listeners would know lots about Befiehle du deine Wege, but not all; and I for one would appreciate being reminded who wrote it and that it was used in the St Matthew Passion.
