You mean socialization by Nonaka, and in fact, they should not talk to each other but they should talk via email to documenting this new knowledge, you are missing one important element in knowledge management is codification and authentication

I gathered that he talked about informal knowledge transfer. i would think naturally the informal form of knowledge transfer would be face to face in an informal and unconditional situation.
