My question is: Why aren't pediatricians diagnosing and treating this condition when patients are still in developmental stages as children? Numerous adults suffer from this condition, myself included. Now at age 60, I'm miserable with knee problems. My case is mild and probably could have been corrected as a child without surgery if my pediatrician would have been competent. Now I'm 60 and probably too old for this type of surgery. In the severe cases presented in this video, how in the hell did the pediatricians not see this??? Sure seems like medical incompetence and neglect!

60 is not too old, I know a 67 year old, miserable/embarrassed whole life, had the surgery, did well, even had lengthening of modest 1inch, altogether, 10mos to be back to walking 2miles daily, life never better, fine in Miami.

Man…. I didn’t think I’d be moved to tears. Every word was SPOT ON! 🥺🥺🥺🥺 I soooo need to be rescued from this knocked knee madness.

I remember when I was about 13 I went in for a knee consultation but the doctor told me I still was still growing and had to wait i I never went t back due to fear of having a op and because I felt embarrassed. It’s effected me mentally all my life I now have severe pain in both knees i spoke to my doctor and said it’s due to my knees being knock knees and I was going to have a op many years back he said thank God you never did as your knee pain would have been much worse now so this put me off yet again from having the op . I also noticed you have no scaring I thought I would have massive scars right across my knees don’t ask me why that’s another reason I was put off . I am now thinking of going back to the doctors to ask if I can have this procedure done after seeing this thank you I know how exactly you have felt all your life as I have felt the same it’s effected me mentally also all my life ❤️❤️

I had this done to both my knees. But when I got my right knee done I also ended up tearing my ACL so the surgeon did both Surgeries on fixing my knee. But during surgery while fixing the ACL the inside outer of my knee shattered so they rebuilt my knee with a osteomety. I can totally relate. I still each morning smile to see to straight legs. I am so happy for you.

I had a meeting with a surgeon for the firat time a couple of weeks ago and I'm still waiting for a referral to a more skilled surgeon near me but when the doctor told me what needed to happen I started to tear up simply because this has been effecting me for over 2/3 of my life, it's effected my ability to get in shape, wear most "in style" clothing etc... and obviously it's PAINFUL as hell. And I didn't realize just how much it hurt me mentally until he told me we can fix it and all the thoughts of how much better my life could be started flooding in

I got Knock-Keens, Flat feet and scoliosis I'm going to get surgery on my spine and keens one day. This video help me think that I'm not the only one :)

I’ve gone my whole life with this horrible affliction. Made fun of as a kid, prevented me from having relationships ( I had one mother of a boyfriend call me a cripple ). People watch you walk & stare. I have horrible back & hip pain now that I’m older. I’m having a hard time walking. I’ve never worn a dress or skirt, don’t wear leggings, walk with my purse in front of my knees. I wish any Dr would have told me it could have been fixed.

My 17 yr old too and I see depression and I know it’s this. It started in me about 18/19 and today I’m crippled from it since 22. It also caused me snapping hip surgery no dr in 22 yrs has listened.

This is so emotional 😔 I'm Turning 22 this year and yeah ii have knock knees💔, this can damage a person, I'm known to be that Guy that's always in his house doesn't go out unless needed, just because ii don't like the looks ii get when I'm out🥺💔...there's even certain Clothing that ii don't wear,,buh ii really like and they would most definitely look Good on me🔥, but ii can't because of these knees, they just mess up everything In my Room ii only have a mirror for my upper body, that's how depressing this thing is🥺 And I'm working towards getting my Degree, find a job just to Fund my Surgery that all ii want in the whole world r.n🥺 Some people make Jokes, harmless ones ii understand, and ii just brush it off, coz ii don't want them to see how it gets to me. I’ve had this my whole life, I’m 57. I got made fun of as a child ( and as an adult ) I remember dating a boy when I was 16 & his mother asked me what was wrong with me. She actually said to me “ when I saw you walk up the driveway I thought omg Jack is dating a cripple “ I remember the pain of those words, the humiliation and how hard I tried not to cry. I wish my parents would have gotten it fixed when I was young. Every time I walk away from someone I try to distract my walking zigzag or trying to get the attention away from anybody watching me. I’ve never worn a dress that wasn’t long. I’ve never worn shorts. I can’t wear leggings either. I live in wide leg yoga pants. I wish this Dr was in Canada.

Been to the doctor for bone and joint pain for the last 6 months and no one has said anything when looking at my legs especially when the rheumatologist said I have arthritis in my knees, I’ve had this since school and the arthritis in my knees have gotten worse, I guess I’ll be having a chat with my dr next week and inquire, wish me luck ❤️. My thoughts are with everyone going through this. Stay strong x

Same here, i went to orthopedic Dr when I started having issues with my knees, I even asked about my knock kneedness and dr didn't say a thing. Just gave steroid shot in the joint. Now no cartiledge left (probably due to the steroid). Now he's talking knee replacement. Im 66 yrs old. I need to get anothwr opinion. Im so bummed, you trust the "professionals" to know what they're doing.

I experienced the same thing. I went to an orthopod for knee pain my knock knees were in ur face obvious but he said nothing! I got a copy of my medical record from him and he clearly states the medical word for knock knees stating this was likely causing my pain. He even measured the knees BUT did not address the obvious! I dont get that This was Kerlan Jobe. THATS WHAT THEY DO! I could have and should have filed a law suit. WHY would he document it but not tell me??? wasnt like i would be offended that this knee specialist told me hey u have knock knees!! Knock knock hello what was he thinking id love to know. (pun intended).

@@juliapendergast5253I had a bone doctor brush me off last week for this. So I found another doctor who does this type of surgery. There’s a name to it, and you have to make sure you talk to the correct doctor.

I thank God, that my surgery was successful I feel happy with my life, God bless all the surgeons in this world and give them more knowledge to discover more technical support.

Ive had knock knees all my life when I was in middle school people would bully me for the way my knee looked they would either call me two left legs or k legs which kept making feel bad about the way I look I’ve also had problems with my knees popping out maybe just by walking or doing regular things my first dislocation happened to my right knee several years ago and it happened twice to the same leg which was plastered for a whole month but when it was plastered the doctor noticed the slightly abnormal part of my knee bones pointing inward and he said I might need surgery to correct it if not I risk future complications and I recently had my left knee dislocate and I’m currently in a brace I also feel a sharp pain in my right knee and some kind of popping sensation when I’m going up and down stairs after doing my research I really am considering realignment surgery to avoid early arthritis and wear and tear of my bones or cartilage this really helped me think I was afraid of complications but I feel that it really what I need

I’ve had this problem all my life imm52 now never been able to wear certain kind of clothing my knees hurt now even a slight jump is very painful . It’s effected my self esteem

@@dezcanso1540 it was about 7k and insurance paid.I need P.T. Because I was not allowed to put weight on it for 6 weeks.It was worth it,reduced pain.It lasted 8 years and I needed total knee replacement which was easier since I was walking that night!

Psychologically, when a person move or stand with knock knee it gives to much ( upper body wit ) force on knees. In this state it affects our brain, lead poor focus and etc. Also affects digestion which lead further diagnosis of other things ( poor digestion ). I read articles. Don't ignore your body.

I have this but I never noticed until I was an adult. I grew up fat. Decided to lose weight in my 30’s. I always thought I couldn’t put my feet together because I was fat. But after losing 200 pounds I realized I have “deformed” legs. I’ve never noticed anyone else with this. I always look at peoples legs and felt so alone and insecure because I never see anyone with legs like mine. It is an embarrassing condition. I’m so insecure about my legs. My doctor used the term Knox knee a few years ago. I think it’s giving me issues in my thighs and hips now that I’m in my 40’s

My right knee is knock kneed. It hurts like hell.

I would do anything to have this surgery. I wish I could have it done but I live in Pennsylvania so my insurance does not cover going to visit you guys.

Amanda Hepner try to call your insurance and see if you can get preauthorization and get coverage, that’s what I’m going to do. I’m also from PA and I plan to go to to their specialist in MD for this surgery and they said they accept their state’s Medicaid but not out of state Medicaid. idk how exactly private insurance does things, incase you have that, but I’m sure you could still call and ask for preauthorization for coverage. sorry this is a late response but I’m just now looking into this so I figured I might be some help lol.

I’m crippled cause of this and now my teen daughter is having depression from this no dr will listen. I'm no longer cover my social security. did think a lot about the risks of getting the surgery. but I might get back on social security over here in Mex and go see a surgeon to get evaluated, but at this point, is it even worth it? mine aren't too bad, but I'm just self conscious about them when I wear shorts.

God, knock knees are the worst, I can't point my feet straight, I've rolled my knees over my ankles 3 times and dislocated my knee cap 4 times, and everyone thinks it's a muscle issue, not a bone issue.

Although her testimonal was good, the video does not cover enough detail about post care. What were her restrictions? What was her recovery time? Do they remove the plates? etc..That's what I really want to know about.

One leg is done at a time . You stay the night in the hospital and can go home the next day. No weight bearing for six weeks on the operated leg. The only medication you have to take is a blood thinner for about a month, vitamin c, vitamin d, and painkillers as needed. The blood thinner is for clots. I was off pain killers after about a week. Two weeks after surgery you have a check up with the doctor to make sure the leg is healing properly. The main goal during the six weeks is recovering your flexibility. At six weeks the doctor checks your leg and clears you to start walking. Its hard at first after not walking for six weeks, but comes back pretty quickly. All hardware comes out of your leg a year after surgery. The removal of the hardware is not bad. You leave the hospital the same day walking. You just have to take it easy for a month so you don't fracture your bone where the holes are. As far as pain it wasn't that bad. Lemme know if you have anymore questions.

@@rawanali1635 Hey, sorry to hear your having problems. Yes I can run and do sports. I would argue that my legs are stronger and more functional now than they ever were before. How bad was your deformity? I was 10 degrees off in both legs and also had a rotational deformity as well. The doctor also cut my it band to stretch it out. He said it would've been more painful if he did not. Have you talked to the doctor who did your surgery about where your pain stems from?

@Rushanique Burke I walked ,with a walker,in hospital, two hours after surgery. I have to get up and walk a little every hour except when sleeping. Exercise three times a day to regain movement. When healed,scared will be about eight inches long and just a tiny line.No big deal.

Yes about a 1/4 inch. Some doctors will do a height increase if thats what you want when they correct the deformity. The recovery time is longer though.

It's disgusting i went to my orthopedic with knee issues and they dissected my mensicus TWICE with NEVER diagnosing this. wasted so much money on surgeries i didn't need

You can't go the majority of your life being used to walking the wrong way and then instantly adjusting to walking the right way over night. Your muscles and tendons are used to walking a certain way. It takes time to learn mentally how to walk the right way and for your body to physically learn also.

MDR I can imagine. Which is why I’m hesitant about this procedure but I’ll be discussing that with my physical therapist

@@officialconch everything I've seen is that you're done in a day and up in walking in a few days, fully healed in several months (running and crouching). I wouldn't have any hesitation on it at all, there's plenty of info on the process and before and after videos and pictures to see how it turns out. Yeah it'll be a mental and a bit of a physical battle, but that's a price worth paying I think.

conch . What country do you live in? I live in the UK I’m gonna try to convince the NHS to get me this surgery

Knock knees on people bug me so much that I'd never date someone with knees like that. I'm generally not shallow, looks aren't everything but this one defect bugs me beyond so many things.

"Tone Deafness" in people bug me so much that I'd never date someone like that. I'm genrally not shallow, but this one defect is a problem. Brains are, EVERYTHING. There. You see how that works? 😒

i have mild knock knees, and would like surgery but i done busted up my teeth and cracked sum 3 years ago, and ended up paying 10k, so now im too broke fo this

Question to you doctor: I too have knock kness. I am in my early 30s now. It was never a problem untill i had a litle accident while playing football one day and since then i cant play football anymore and i cant do any movments with my legs and with knees specialy like sprinting and switching leg movments quicly like we do in football. My knees just get twisted when I do this kind of moves, and then I just seat down and smack on my knees with my fist and press on the twisted area and the knees just snaps back in place. So easy remedy for me but i feel so broken that i cant so this kind of things now. Nothing major happened after that becaus i just left playing football to avoid it. But, to overcover this, i started running. Not sprinting but slow and steady running. And my running imporved and now I can run more than 10 12 kms at a streach wthout any breaks. M now aiming to run a full marathon. 42 kms. But now my problem is. I really want to get this knock knee fixed. All the psychological and mental issues are same with me as they are for others with know knee problem. But i have never let this problem affect my phyiscal abilites. And so, now as i want to get this corrected, the only question i have is: Would I be able to run a marathon and also play football after this knock knee correction surgery. You can guess that my knock knees pronlem is not severe and based on this nornal severity case, if i go for know knee correction surgery, would I be able to run a marathon, play football and also for bodybuilding, do leg-press, dead-lift, squats, launges etc????? Please repond?

You would have to wait a while to do such extreme activities such as that. It may take nearly a year although I’m not fully sure
