Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video, I show you how to repair loose stitches and snags in your knitting. (If you are looking for instructions on how to cover or repair more damaged work, please see my Duplicate Stitch video here: • Knitting Help - Duplic... )
Information on things you'll see in this video:
The latch hook snag fixer I use can be found at most local fabric stores, or here online:
www.amazon.com/Dritz-5105-Ergo...
The little bamboo marking pins I use can be found here:
astore.amazon.com/verypinkcom-...
The yarn I used in a swatch is a wool/alpaca blend. Sorry, I'm not sure of the brand!
The sweater I'm wearing is store bought. :)
The nail polish I'm wearing is by Julep, color "Lupita".

I'm a beginner knitter, and your videos are so comforting and informative!
One of my all-time favey words...'snag'. Thank you OH-so-much for emphatically saying 'big snag' the way you did. You've made my day!
Thank you so much!! Your video helped me fix an enormous snag in the socks I'm knitting. Got it from a yarn over when transitioning between needles. You saved my socks :D
You are a life saver! I had these big gaps from working short rows and your tutorial helped me fix them! They are invisible!! Thank you!!! 🥳
Thank you so much for the tutorial Stacey! I have one of those latch hook things and did not know what it was for! We have 3 cats and they are always snagging things! So I'm gonna be busy fixing jumpers ☺
The last example (severed ply) could also be remedied utilizing a small crochet hook (if a snag tool is not available). Additionally, using the same hook, I would thread it through one of the purl "nubs" as long as it wouldn't be visible on the front of the work to keep the snag from getting worse. Another option to prevent it from fraying more would be to add a drop of Frey check. Nothing worse than unraveling work from the center mass of a project! 😉 Great video (as always)!!! 👍👍👍👍
I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you for sharing all this information!
Thanks Staci! i only thought i knew the anatomy of a stitch :) Using the shoulder, head, shoulder analogy is a big help.
wow fantastic! I learn something new everyday! Thank you so much!
You are simply amazing! Wonderful tutorial!
Thank you. I went to visit my daughter up in DC over Christmas and her dog jumped up on me as I entered her home and pulled out a couple of long stitches on my beautiful sweater I bought in Ireland. I just poked them to the back of the sweater until I could actually figure out what to do with them properly. This helps A LOT, although I wish you would have had your dog actually pull out some stitches with his nails on your swatch to show us a real example, not just a tiny made up one.
This is so helpful! My nephew gets his little fingers in the yarn and makes the stitches loose, so now I can fix them!
Needed that explanation to know/understand how the yarn runs. Thanks very helpful in many other situations.
Thanks for this one! And it's true! I had an actual physical reaction to those scissors going at your knitting. Gave me a good chuckle, after I caught my breath of course. :)
Thank you,Stacey.I am no longer afraid of loose stitches!!:D
You are wonderful with all your knitting knowledge. Even more so now I know you have dogs. Thankyou for the snag fixing.
Thank you!!! the latch hook is amazing! I didn't know it exist!
This is a much needed video. Thanks!
Wow! That was amazing - great tips. Thanks!
Staci, you simply rock! Thanks so much! :) ♥
This video came in SO handy! Thank you!
Thanks for the video! I had forgotten about Knit Pickers. For the last one I would add a bit of Fray Check to the cut threads and stick them to the yarn it was once apart of. Just smooth it together with your finger tips.....If that makes any sense. --Ane
Finally a tutorial on the latch hook snag tool. My one has an s-shape hook on the opposite end of latch hook. How do I use this and what is it for?
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH YOU SAVE MU LIFE! ONE OF DOLL HAD THIS PROBLEM ANS I DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO DO thank you very much
I use a crochet for snags but the hatch hook would work so much easier. Keeps the broken ply from falling off my crochet hook when pulling through to the back. Thanks so much!
Cool tools that I will order soon and fab tips. Thanks Staci.
Love you videos!! I'm currently knitting a baby blanket and it's coming out great. Do you have any videos on how to knit a border garter stitch border to the main part of the blanket?
I just found this channel and have finally found my favorite knitting woman! I'm a 27 yr old left handed knitter and was wondering how could left handed knitters knit without carrying over the hand every time to carry over the yarn? Hopefully that makes sense
Amazing video! Hoping to fix or 'heal' my much loved Christmas jumper. Wish me luck. xx
Sooooo super helpful! Thank you!
How do u fix a stitch where u have split the yarn and now it’s like a snag in the work? I do this all the time.
Staci, when you do the dog sweater can you include a sweater big enough for a portly border collie and an active Labrador??? My mom has the cold short haired border collie and she has asked for a sweater for him.
Great tips!
I ripped out several stitches downward to fix a twist. I was able to get all the stitches back but about 10 in one vertical row got loose! I'm way too far into this to want to start over. How do I tighten multiple vertical loose stitches. Thank you!
Thanks for the informative video. Off to buy more fun tools.
Thank you!!
So helpful!
Since you do live in a house with three dogs, how about giving us an awesome pattern for a dog sweater? My little Rascal would love a hand knit sweater from his mom!

VeryPink Knits Can't wait! I'll be watching for it!
This is so helpful! But would it also work with crochet?

MyWarriorInHiding - you can fix snags the same way, but crochet stitches are different from knit stitches, so the shoulder-head-shoulder technique I demonstrate for tightening loose stitches will not work in crochet.
so no matter what i do to figure this stitch out and every single stitch is perfect except my last stitch its lose and just keeps getting bigger and i cant make it smaller can you please help me solve this problem it happens at the end of each row with my last stitch.
Thank you sooooooo much
3:40 I had a small heart attack here.
How would you repair a stitch that is cut/torn straight through? I had a stitch that got torn and it started to unravel and I do not know how to fix it.
