    My grandma died in February. I have a bunch of things that she knitted, including a very warm pair of socks. I caught it on a nail and pulled the stitches similar to your example. Googled how to fix it and found your video. I can't thank you enough for this demonstration. I was upset, thinking that I'd possibly ruined the socks. Thank you so much.

    You must still feel sad that you lost your grandma and so grateful to her for the things she knitted for you. I'm grateful that this helped you fix your socks. I know that feeling of being warmed by things made by my ma and grandma. It's very sweet.

    My mom told me instead of wasting time doing this, just pull the thread to the other side and make a knot, but as a perfectionist I couldn't stand my sweater being all wobbly and tangled, so I was determined to fix it. This big snag took me almost an hour to fix, but it was well worth it!! 🤧👌

    Very helpful. Some videos suggest pulling the snag to the inside of the sweater and tying the yarn in a knot...even cementing it with nail polish! It looked barbaric and I am happy to see a simple (and obvious) way to restore the knit. Thank you.

    This video was a TREMENDOUS help for me! I didn't even know I could fix a snag, but I googled it just to see if there was ANYTHING I could do to fix my favourite pair of knit gloves. I'm still learning to knit, so there is a lot I have no clue how to do. Thank you so much for this video. KZread is an amazing thing, in that I can watch a video on mistakes I've made, and how to fix things like a hole, or snag. Sometimes though, no one has made a video on how to fix certain problems, or the video isn't in English without subtitles. So, I'm very grateful to all of those whom make videos on not only how to knit, but how to fix issues that arise. Great job! Definitely going to subscribe! :)

    Lee Heft It is not that difficult nor is it "dangerous." If the yarn is very fine or very softly spun there is some danger of it breaking but the secret is patience. Gently coax it back into shape a little at a time and you should be fine. Good luck and good for you for being willing to try this. And be brave! :)

  • @CherylBrunetteTV

    @CherylBrunetteTV

    10 жыл бұрын

    Thank you Val. People often have trouble with their edge sts, even experienced knitters. One thing is to figure out whether or not you are doing it at the beginning or end of the row and which type, knit or purl (I'm guessing the beginning st). Then consciously slow down and make sure the yarn is pulled into the right position (front or back) before doing that stitch. I'm starting a series on edges this week (Feb 20, 2014) that you may find helpful.

  • @CherylBrunetteTV

    @CherylBrunetteTV

    4 жыл бұрын

    Not really gaylemae. If the fabric does not show a noticeable line of tightness where it's been pulled you can get a sewing needle or pin and poke the snagged thread to the back or wrong side. Don't cut it off. Otherwise you might gently poke around and try moving things. I wonder if washing would help.

    I've never knitted in my life and I have no experience whatsoever, but my cat unfortunately pulled on one of my new expensive sweaters with her claw and there's two snags in it. Do you think this would be an achievable fix for someone of my skill level?

  • @CherylBrunetteTV

    @CherylBrunetteTV

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Emily Pozzuto You can only try Emily. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't work. It depends on the gauge (are there many stitched to an inch or only a handful?) but if it's like a regular fine-knit sweater you can buy a small sweater fixing tool at Jo-Annes or Michaels that will help you pull the snag to the other side.
