Does no one now how to use a hammer & tongs anymore? That's not a kukri! That's a kukri shaped object. You might as well buy a Chinese knock off because they are both not made the Genuine way. Does no one know hoe to draw & upset iron anymore. No craft, just a stencil & an angle grinder. I'd be curious if that object is intact even after a year of regular use.

@@angrypineappleknives it not gate keeping, it's material science & constructive critisism! that cut out crystal structure & internal forces would be against it'd implementation. Use that cut out knife on brush, an animal or what have you it would likely break. ''If a job is worth doing, do it right'' Nice aesthetic but not fit for purpose. I will admit I'm a tad unnecessarily irritated. Doesn't have to be forged but he didn't do it the industrial age way either. Cold stamping is the common industrial way most often followed by electrolytic surface hardening with final optional protective impregnated coating of some sort. Grinding depends on tools/blades purpose. I am a Fabricator, welder, mechanical & electrical engineer by profession. My Grand father & great Grand instructed me in smithy work as both where primarily Ferrier's & cart wrights though they did other work & craft as well. My grand father made the gates to the bank of England & my Great grand father worked in the royal armoury of Britain. I worked metal before I could talk as a mute till 7 under their instruction. I know what I am talking about when it comes shaping metal. Be it drawn or upset by hammer & tong. Or by more recent industrial means.

@@angrypineappleknives He has the basic tools but not the Instruction, knowledge & practice. Has artisanal skill which is about 1/2 the battle. The lad requires an elder to show him how. Unfortunately I am across the pond & I suspect him a yank though I'm sure some one would take him as a part time apprentice or what have you. All Smiths do it & learn from their elders & other share their ways with other smith of ways passed down for centuries.

This Kukri came out beautiful . . . .the finish though for me would be a flat black/natural color instead of shinned. Love the edge, sharp as it should be. What was the final over all weight of this blade?

How to order and how much
For the angles
It's a decent blade, but also a typical paint by number build. Not a lot of craftsmanship and artistry goes into these type of builds. I'm sure it acts, performs and would last just like a kukri I would order on Amazon for 40$.
@FantasyWeapons
Жыл бұрын
It takes some good skills and a lot of hours to make a knife like that even with "paint by numbers" . Clearly its harder when you forge the blade but i think he did a good knife
So shiny it can be used for a face reveal
Shiny!
