Sir, you've made my entire week with just that shoutout. I know it's not much and I'm not the guy who invented tapered tangs, but it means a lot to me. I need to make a video about my special vise for tapered tang scales. It holds the knife by the flats so that you can clamp the scale to the knife, support the underside with some scrap wood, and then the holes are drilled and aligned perfectly. All you have to do is flatten the scales on the grinder, and assuming your platen is flat and therefore the tapered tang is ground flat too, it will match the scales. I glue up with JB weld to hide the tiny gaps, but I think a stronger epoxy with dye would work just as well. Great job on the knife. The balance tapering the tang adds is just unbelievable until you try it for yourself. Again, thanks for the shoutout, I love giving back to the knifemaking community that has given me so much.

Nice video! But may I ask why would I taper my tang? It looks nice, so is it mostly cosmetic or more for weight loss or redistribution? Or is it something else? Again, good, cleat informative video! Thanks for sharing!
