Absolutely solid gold these how to/work alongs... So grateful for this style of vid... You are one of the first five knifemakers I ever saw on 'tube who made me think I might one day get round to having a go at making a knife. You have no idea how much these are appreciated. I reckon sometime this year i might need be talking to you and Sandy about your order books... if I can afford it.

Thanks Lee. Just perfect mate. I know what I'm doing now and will try the tapered tang on the next Bobcat. Your hand sanding bar was one side covered in rubber and the other leather? Brilliant watching you hand grind that full flat. 👍👍👌👌

hi, i recently subscribed to your channel and i`m watching and learning all i can as i am a beginner in this craft (but not new to metalworking). i`m sure there is a reason for not making the taper in the surface grinder with an angle plate or maybe can`t be done this way safely. or is it you think this approach is too much "production style". i would like to know your opinion, as i`m watching there are people doing cnc knives which i hate. thanks for the video. regards. pete

+thebrokenbone hi mate glad you are learning that's why I do the vids. Yes it can be done on a surface grinder I do that way from time to time. But with a normal surface grinding wheel it takes quite a while. I have a way of converting my surface grinder to belts. And this works better.
