Seeing Skim milk turn into whipped cream amazed me when I was little. Haven’t seen this informercial in over 30 years. Still honestly amazes me 😆

One of the first informercials I saw as a kid. This was back when the infomercial concept was new and unfamilar. I wanted one so badly that an immersion blender was among the first things I bought with my own money after getting my first job. FYI: The skim milk thing is real (though flavorless), but I remember seeing somewhere many years later that the peanut butter in the can was faked by adding real store bought peanut butter during a production stop down that you don't see (because it wasn't working the way they planned). Idk why but the whole "late show... and it'll never show" line is the one part of this that seemed to be burned in and survived in my memory this whole time until now.

This was the first infomercial I ever saw and I ended up buying this. I liked that the long stick was metal because all the knockoffs were plastic. Back then, this was the only model that came with four interchangeable blades (the fourth isn't shown in these clips) and the main blade had "teeth" on it to chop through ice. I used it for years but then started moving around the country and lost it somewhere in my moves. I still miss this thing. Hysterical to me that I've seen this so many times as a kid, and I was quoting the host word for word when she was making mayo. "No good chef cooks with a cold egg...ask any of em..." The other line (not shown) is after making the daiquiri, she says "Now, if this is for the adults, you add a little rum to it, and that's how ya do it...."🤣

As a kid I was fascinated by the mayo making segment. As an adult I am annoyed at how often she moves the jar up, then back to the counter. Up, back down, up back down. This is why Cathy Mitchell won out career wise.

I remember this infomercial vividly. Immersion blenders are more common now, but they seemed like magic then! Of course, a whipped topping made from skim milk is going to taste like whipped skim milk, not whipped cream. But it seemed like a wonderful transformation in the infomercial. I liked how infomercials in those days were made to feel at least a little more like real "programs" than just happened to have some gadget as the topic of the day, instead of just straight out never-ending ads.

Exactly. It would taste like foamy milk. You would have to add vanilla flavor and sugar to give it any chance of tasting like whipped cream

@@Wild1995 If I remember correctly, I think in the full infomercial, she actually suggested adding vanilla and sugar to it, because it was skim. At a certain point, you're doing so much to it that you haven't really gained anything by not just making normal whipped cream.

Glad to see this again after all these years. A couple of missing things: adding a little lemon to your mayonnaise because it will turn brown if you don't. Also the aerator blade is supposed to be crooked (so don't go home and hammer it flat), the meat grinder blade and the grinder attachment (for coffee beans, cheeses, etc.).

I remember picking up the phone to order. Remember when the operator's voice, her happy peppy voice getting cranky when I declined her offer for the deluxe model at a increased price and the offer for a lifetime warranty. Had it for about a year until a little post that stuck out of the shaft to hold the blade in place broke off. It did do what the commercial said it would though, it was just the quality wasn't good.
